    Default Mabar Event Tonight 7pm EST raidgroup signup

    Let's crush the event tonight.

    7PM Eastern. (6 Central, 4 pacific)

    I wasn't around for last years one.. So would prefer others who haven't checked it out yet. Tho all are welcome, just no spoilers please.

    Just a heads up... Unless something changed from last year, it doesn't matter what group you put together, the group going into the quest is randomly picked from the players that enter it. Although with the low population of Lammania, it might not be a problem... On live, you'll end up with groups of people that may or may not be in your group.

    Also, I believe the full group for the Spectral Dragon is 16, not 12.

    Good point there about grouping. And yeah, it's 16 players.

    I believe it's only the players in your instance that go into the same dungeon, so if you can get people not in the group to switch to another instance (assuming there IS one), that might help. On Lammania, it might be doable, but good luck with that on Live

    Meh. I don't think I gave any spoilers away, since I was just pointing out how groups are made up in the quest. I think my heads up would be the same thing as telling someone fresh to raids that the it will comprise of 12 people instead of 6. It's not like I explained what the monsters, tactics and weapons are expected in the quest. Personally, I would have thought if the situation had changed about the randomness of people entering the quest changed that knowing it's a 16 instead of 12 person instance would alleviate some pressure on your group. Especially since unmanned groups don't do well...for reasons you'll find out when you get there.

    Was fun. Thanks kookie, cordovan, glin and the other devs.

    I'll post some screenshots later.

    The ability to modify monsters stats on the fly is pretty slick 404.. Could use that to make some interesting live events.

    It still holds 16 players, but there weren't enough people around to do the "split group into different instances" thing. Doesn't seem to work any differently this time around, but it's been a year

    I dont think anything changed regarding the coding, tho wasnt on last years so i dunno.

    It's a 24 man raid instance. Everyone in the same raidgroup will enter the same instance, after that it will take another 12.

    From what I understand from talking with Cordovan, if you setup two 12 man raids, and both enter at the exact same moment, you should have your own instace between the two.. and can use general chat to comunicate with all in your instance only.

    The 16 player DM popup just refers to some recommendation.. I think they recommend 4 players per shrine (4x4 =16, but it holds up to 24)

    Not tested fully, but at one point we did have a full raidgroup +1 other guy in there.

    I do like the idea of a 24 player raid.. This doesn't really have the challenge a raid of that caliber tho, 8 decent players can handle this.

    My main pet peeve is the lack of difficulty settings. It's pretty much casual/normal only. Long as the 8 players are in the right position and can handle some basic undeads (Night Gargoyles in this case, which arent incorporeal like other undead gargs), theres no problem getting your scale.

    8 good players could most likely handle the Mabar dragon, until you mix in client crushing lag. Last years lag was so bad that upon the dragon spawning, many reported not being able to move. So while it may not be challenging enough now, wait to complain until the load of a live server crushed it again.


    But then again, maybe they got the lag issue fixed...
