One idea. Take Heighten and Quicken sooner. Leave the Greater Spell Focus' for later when you will need the +1 to DC's. Taking Necro Focus at level 6 is too early. You would gain more from Quicken.

I love the Rogue/Wizard. I will be running one on my next life.

PS; Why Elf? IMHO toasters make the best Arcane.

If you are dead set on Elf then PaleMaster is the way to go as you've selected.

Was it intentional to not select the feat Insightful Reflexes? I ask because it is just so very good with evasion and high INT.

As far as stats go, I would drop STR and bump CHA. I have a build very close to this and don't remember a time that 8 or even 10 STR hurt much at all. In my opinion, +2 UMD goes further than +2 STR-based skills. Missing on a Heal/Rez scroll when the fit hits the shan, does make things exciting. I suppose...
Or Bump CON one more and even it out with a +1 tome.

Have fun with the build! I did.

    Simple suggestion:
    Human Pale Master
    Warforged every-other-wizard.

Elf can get +2 to spell pen for a cost of 3 ap. I'd stay elf for a pale master especially if you can get the extra spell pen to compensate for the rogue splash.

This looks like a really great build, but I wouldn't really know all I have is a lv 5 Barbarian.

Definitely gonna try this out I didn't know about the Elven Arcanum enhancement since everyone is pretty much always saying Drow/Human/WF for wizard I don't think a lot of people actually even give elf the attention.

I been really wanting to try wizard out. I just love saying wizard. Wizard! Time to wizard it up.

I was even looking at halfling, with all the extra saves and +1 AC etc. looks acceptable enough as well I'm gonna look into it more but Human/Elf/Drow prob are better for rogue splash.

Edit: I guess I just also just like halflings I guess, or I really want to make a halfing rogue but don't know it and am making a wiz/rog. Or maybe I'm just thinking about the game too much and am getting too excited cause its so awesome.

2 issues with elf as a race choice:
    1. You are doubling up on DC cost by being elf and splashing (so are 2 DC lower than a pure drow or human).
    2. You don't need the bonus spell pen as you have 2 wizard PL's.

Solution: Stay pure, go human (or drow).

    Capstone is just that good.

I would make it just to be different, not like 2 less DC is gonna be game breaking.
And the 80 extra spell points are probably just as good as the extra human feat and some extra skill points.

Besides the guy wants to be a trapmonkey don't think he cares about the capstone. + evasion is awesome.

Yeah the real goal of this build is to be a good trap monkey and have nice DCs - SP.
I choose Elf for the elven arcanum line due to mitigate the lost of 2 lv mage and get an appreciable +2 bonus on SP (not counting the wizzys past lives).
I really want a baby who can land his necro spell without failing (or almost) against the stupid drow SR (I hate all Elf... I know, I know... it's a little bit contradictory XD)
I made some count about DC and this is what I've got :

    INT SCORE: 18 base + 5 lv up + 3 enhan + 6 item + 3 tome + 3 exc + 2 nave + 2 lich = 42 for a +16 mod

    DC:
    necro: 10 base + 9 high + 2 feat + 16 mod + 2 item + 1 lich + 1 pl = 41 necro
    ench: 10 base + 9 high + 2 feat + 16 mod + 2 item + 0 lich + 1 pl = 40 ench
    conj: 10 base + 9 high + 0 feat + 16 mod + 2 item + 0 lich + 1 pl = 38 conj

So DC doesn't seems to be so nerfed with the 2 lv rogue, to me

About feats : yes necro focus is useless at lower lv but they're a pre-req to pale master and Zombie form is pretty nice while lv-ing

Since you took at level 12 Past Life: Arcane Initiate, I can't get that what would you recommend I replace it with for me since its my first wiz.

    Extend spell imho.
It's a real nice feat and help u both enduring your buffs duration and improving the time u get heal by your death aura

I'm guessing he doesn't want to stay pure, or he'd probably have built a pure wiz. Just a thought.
And elf is actually a GREAT race for a rogue splash on a TR because they can easily and cheaply shore up the spell pen loss from the splash, while also having more build points to shore up the Con loss from the racial choice.
As for his DCs being 2 points lower: It's not like a PM has much troble with their necro DCs anyway, and he has both SF: enchant feats as well, so he won't be terribly behind there either.

My only real criticism about the build is the damage enhancements.
    Frost 3, storm 3, flame 2, force 2.
If it were me, I think I'd drop the Acid lines to free up three points and make the damage lines like this:
    Frost 5, storm 4, flame 3, force 1.
And possibly trade GSF: Enchant for Extend. Extend is almost a must have on a PM for the aura.

This is my real great doubt... extend is too much a gain to drop it so easily... and 39 ench is still a nice DC anyway

    hi all
this is my build, I asked to nephilia to post it cause he use the forum much more than me.

why I'm not going for a pure wiz? cause this is my 5th life of arcane and I always had pure arcane I just wanna try something different

why elf? because of spell penetration, I hate "blue shield" and I want to be much effective than I can be.

Why GSF Ench instead of Extend? because I prefere to have 40+ DC instead of double aura contdown

Why damages enancement? this is an open point, I don't wanna be a nuker ( I got my sorc.. but I prefere to be a CC ), and I thought maybe it was better to have also a good meteor, but maybe with ur advice I can have more effectiveness on DOT..

That was kind of my point. You're not going to be a nuker in general, so spreading the damage enhancements so thin seems a waste. You're not going to have a spell from every element slotted, and even if you do you'll never cast them all, so dropping Acid seems the obvious answer. There's 3 points.
The only spells that use force are MM, ChainM and Disintegrate. MM and ChainM are going to be used so rarely that spending an extra point there seems like a waste to me, and there really won't be that much difference between 20% and 25% against Golems, which is basically the only time you'll be casting Disintegrate. There's another point.
Those 4 points give you a slightly better WoF, and considerably better DoTs and Polar Rays, which are going to account for all of the nuking that you'll be doing I would imagine.
They still won't be top tier, but they won't be terrible either.
