    Default Phoenix of Siberys

Okay, since the fix to healing ki, my Solar Phoenix has been more or less benched, and I've finally decided he needs to be updated into an actual tank (My Phoenix, despite the huge amp, could never really hold aggro against a decent group).

778 HP (801 with +2 con from guild buff)

Madstone (cuts off self healing except from healing ki, and lay on hands?)
    824/847 HP
    870/893 HP (double madstone)

    Healing Amp:
    5% Past Life
    10% DT
    20% ToD/DT
    30% Human
    20% Monk
    25% Jidz Tetka
    10% Guild
    ---
    297.297% amp
(386.4861% with epic gloves of the claw)

    Saves:
    41 Fort
    33 Reflex
    29 Will

    Skills
+48 intimidate (at least, this is with no good luck, enhancement bonus, or >+15 item)
+33 UMD (only GH, can get higher)

    Strong Points:
    -Relatively high HP (778)
-Threat generation (stance, gear, redemption, intimidate)
    -High Saves
    -Evasion
    -High healing amplification
-Self Healing (Fists of light, healing ki, cures, heal scrolls)
    -Full UMD
    -Can open locks.
    -Haste boost, HV damage boost

Depending on the amp amount, curse of healing should be netting back 2-5 HP, or 3-7 HP healed per hit.

Any suggestions, comments, pointing out of glaring errors/problems are welcome.

I want Bakup Planne to get out there and hit stuff again.

Edit: Yes this is using handwraps.

I was considering swapping out Defender for Stalwart, since not using HoTD doesn't make pally bring any amp, but I think I like the higher saves and better self healing I get out of the paladin levels instead.

Okay, since this is my first attempt at a true "tank," (Tank Horoth, LoB, you know, big stuff where you want a specific tank) can I get some advice/feedback?

I know to get whatever +threat gear I can manage, and plan on at the very least getting DR 5/good from epic cloak of night.

Also, I put level ups into CON, is that a bad plan? I'm fairly certain the setup should work, but as I said, lack of experience doing high caliber tanking.

I just want to make sure I don't screw this up horribly TR'ing. I'd rather have any overlooked issues pointed out now rather than post-TR when it will likely be a lot more difficult to fix.

People can get horribly anal with level up points, but you should really look at them as free stat buy ins that you can't use at character creation - use them to cheaply meet feat requirements, and to guarantee even stats when geared. I would, however, dedicate some or most of the level ups into strength - I'd only use them for con if you know you'll be ending on an even numbered strength and an odd numbered con without it.

I'm probably in the minority here, but a good thing to look for on a tank is Earthen Guard - 10 DR can be amazing, it doesn't have a terrible proc rate.
One alternative could be trading out Human for Helf and grabbing the Barbarian Dilettante. You can probably spare a toughness feat, and you'll probably want to trade out the eCloak of Night eventually for a 3 piece abishai set.

I'll have to look into earthen guard, hadn't even crossed my mind yet.

I'm using Human over half-elf because I get more healing amp that way. I want to try to preserve the original concept of really high amp/self healing while actually being able to hold aggro and take a 500 damage hit and not die.

Only briefly thought about the abishai set, gear wise I'm sitting pretty flexible except for armor, bracers, and gloves.
