Default Trick to keeping up Niac's/Eladar's?

So I'm only recently back to the game and am playing around with the new lvl 5 DoTs for arcanes and wondering how I can keep them triple-stacked without wasting mana by refreshing them too early and without losing damage by waiting too long. Is there a visual cue for when the triple stack is up/down? Do you just wait a couple seconds after the cooldown expires and throw another?

    i use the focus orb
if you select the mob and press the spyglass in the focus orb it tells you what
buffs the mob has and dot spells
and also tells ya how long is left.

Just wait a few (2-4) seconds after the cooldown is finished.
At worst you'll lose a tick or two, which isn't really the end off the world.

Or use the focus orb, whatever you fancy.

The option that shows cooldown times that can be selected from the game UI options helps with time based spells. I use it for all of the dot type spells. When the timer counts down to zero that you can see on your hotbar in the same box as the spell, I throw another. It's easier for me to multitask that way. Worst I've ever had to do was hit tab a couple times to bring the mob in question back up.

Use Z initially, then figure out your various rhythms of casting.

DoT, SLA 1, SLA 2, SLA 3, SLA 1, SLA 2, DOT, etc.

It takes a bit to find your particular cadences for the various bosses, but you can get there. But when in doubt use Z and examine to see the exact timer.

Ah, seems I had missed the bit about the focus orb being updated to show durations of stuff on bosses. The things you miss when you don't play the game for half a year...

    Thanks.

This. When all-out nuking (for example, shroud) I go DoT-DoT-Vulnerability-Chain Lightning-Lightning SLA-Chain Lightning-Ball Lightning-Chain Lightning-Lightning SLA-DoT-DoT and repeat, refreshing the vulnerability as needed.

If you are good with keeping time in your head, just count four seconds after the cooldown expires.
