    Default Low level handwraps?

I'm a level 4 monk, and still using the handwraps you get when you start. My DPS is really bad compared to other melees, and the only handwraps I've looted are two regular handwraps. I decide "OK, I'll just go craft myself some handwraps." Go to House K, make one set of handwraps ready for crafting, and check DDO wiki for recipes, where I find that handwraps are broken as far as crafting goes. I've checked the AH, but there's really nothing there that's my level and I can afford.

Is this just the luck of the draw, or is there someplace I can work towards a known handwrap reward at level 4? Is there an ETA on being able to craft handwraps?

Weeping Handwraps are pretty good (min lvl 2) and they're from the quest "Captives".
Fernian Wraps are awesome but unless if you have a higher level character to get em for you, I don't think its feasible.

I'd say just work with what you have and remember at low levels you want to be using all your different elemental ki strikes since mobs go down too fast to bother building up ki.

Monk DPS is terrible at low level (1-8 or so).

Best wraps you are likely to find is +1 Holy or similar. Vicious if you don't mind cutting yourself. OTOH, many other melees will be using Maelstrom, the Hellstroke Greataxe or Carnifex.

    Don't worry about it - you'll improve.

As far as i know, only the "+"'s on crafted handwraps are broken. Sticking just to "Effects" will still give you some good benefit! If you have the crafting levels, a Screaming of Bleeding handwraps set should work pretty well, and would be min level 3. Alternately Holy works wonders (Also ML:3), and leaves you a suffix slot (Bleeding, Pure Good or Lesser Undead bane to make the total ML:5).

Devotion, from Delaras, is a nice named set to go with the Weeping Wraps and Fernia Wraps already mentioned.

Thanks guys! I knew about the Devotion wraps, but will see if I can get a group for Captives and hope that one chief spawns for the Weeping ones. I'll also read up on what I need for the crafted ones.

let them have their maelstroms etc.

personally i like my +1 vicious of bleed icy burst wraps ML 2:RR horc
my shock of bleed icy burst ml 4 are nice for when i live through the emo faze too.

To the op. if you've got higher levels toons.

Fernia wraps from threnal are ml:0 flaming burst +2 (and other random stuff) you'll likely be level 13 before you pull your own though

Devotion wraps from Delaras are ml:0 holy +1 (and other stuff) you'll likely be level 9 before you pull some though.

What server do you play on? your best bet is to ask around or check the AH for a +1 elemental prefix with good or bleed as the suffix, these become available at level 4 onwards.

Alternatively you did mention crafted wraps, the only part that's still horribly broken is the + modifier, so you won't gain +2 to hit / damage, but if you can make yourself some holy of pure good no + modifier they'll server you fairly well.

You are thinking about the Devotion, ML 0, holy flametouched iron handwraps from Delera's.

The named metalline of pure good are Devouts, from Shadow Crypt. ML 8

Edit: Catacombs has the Eternal Rest: ml 0: ghost touch, silver, lesser undead bane.

Finding low level stuff on the AH got harder as people just deconstruct most stuff. But you can still get pretty good DPS by just using your ki as soon as you get it. Don't reach the -1 section unless you're building up to 15 for a stun. But why use stunning fist in the low levels? Mobs die to quick to make it worth the cost, just use those 15 ki for 3 +1W6 elemental strikes. Depending on the mob you may even get bonus damage and for larger groups, use the fire finisher which can help a lot.

    Talking Acid can has <3

Of all the rolls / re-rolls - this wrap, that wrap (and I never use Devotion from Delera's <-- Flame on)

I've found that a pair of +1 Acid Wraps go a looooooooooong way, pick up the Eternal Rest wraps from The Catacombs and you're good on everything unless you find Pure Good (PG) wraps first. Eternal Rest is still your Ghost Touch tho.

    Why Acid?

    1. Ooze - low level ooze kryptonite | Undead hate it too (plus skelies)
    2. Used to be VERY easy to find on AH for 2500 plat or below (well worth it)
    3. At low level - I found Acid increased my dmg output...for whatever reason
    4. Acid seems to liquify everything....I mean everything it touches

Keep in mind I always made Wis/Dex Monks until my last test... Str/Con

    -----------------------------------------

Someone in the party said, "You like Monks dontcha?" I said yea
He said, I can tell.....I looked at the kill count and o.O

    My Str/Con w/ +1 acid wraps had 40 + kills ..... the closest was 11.
KC means very little to me but that made me give the Str Monk "The Nod."
    I am who I am...I do what I do

No its not just the "+"'s my shocking of bleeding wraps loose shocking from them when I switch to wands or sometimes just randomly. To fix it turn powerattack on/off or put a + to damage item on and off.

If you want to use the Delaras wraps you will need to be good aligned.

I like to get a set of Eternal Rest (Ghost Touch, Silver Threaded, Lesser Undead Bane) wraps from the Catacombs quests

Thanks for all the help guys. Quick question: I've found that Crystal Cove is very fun, and thinking perhaps go for the Brawler's Gloves. I'm level 5 now, so should I go for the level 4 and add whatever tier I can afford, or go for the level 8s and hold on to them for now? I got lucky and got some +2 handwraps out of WW.

No, that's just wrong. I have no idea why you would ever want to do that on a monk.

Because no matter the class/race//build it works for really good DPS.

I currently have a L4 +1 Flaming wraps of Bleeding, which I had put put Frost onto. So if you can get an elemental damage + bleeding they will be good at low levels, as bleeding works on almost everything at low levels.

But best of luck finding a pair of those.

dunno if you struggle in cove or not.

if not i'd probably make a tier 1 of level 8,16 and 20 to tide you through till you get better gear.

don't waste fragments upgrading the lower level brawling gloves to higher Tier's!

Edit. as a slot consolidator the ring isn't to bad at level 12 or 16 (especially when you get to the crucible)

I'd go for some of the trinkets as well, attack +1 damage +1 or health, even add seeker +2 to your hat will be nice. They are all L4, not sure on level of hat once you apply seeker +2 tho.
