    Default Using surveys in DDO

    Hi,

I read the forums fairly regularly, and I often wonder how representative the opinions I see there are of the general population in-game.

The first survey I've seen used in this game was the one about the UI a week or so ago. But that survey still suffered from the same problem as gauging opinion by what you see on the forums; if you didn't go to the forums you wouldn't have known about it.

I think Turbine could make better use of the in-game MyDDO function to run surveys on hot issues in the game's development. Along with better communication from Turbine to its players, this could solve a lot of player frustration.

Two points I'd like to make here are, firstly there should be an incentive to complete the surveys, either a chance to draw something big, or a guaranteed small payment in TP or items to complete it. You need something to make sure enough people reply for it to be useful. This would be a good chance to update the lottery tech so it is working properly too, or combine the two things.

Secondly, this isn't about devaluing the opinions of the hardcore players of the game, and in fact it may act to support what some of them are saying.

Let me know what you think.

    Thanks.

    Default Agreed.

I will sign on to this for you Blerk. I tend to think as well that the majority of people playing the game rarely if ever come to the forums.

There are many options to sending a feedback survey to players: Registered email address, in game mail, link that shows up under the buff bar on screen, forums, etc. etc.

/signed for feedback surveys, and all you founders that hope the feedback survey idea blows over, or has been beaten to death.............where is your voice on the matter, let yourselves be heard on something that can truly help the game. We already know telling them on Lammania how bad things are falls on deaf ears.

    Umean,

Just going through old posts and noticed you'd added something to this one. Thank you for that.

No need to thank me for supporting a GREAT idea by any means.

I am ALL for more surveys in this game. Not much more to say other than that, lol, just check the link in my signature to see for yourself!

    Happy gaming!

I agree - and why not post about surveys in the Eberron Chronicle, too ?

This way nearly everyone could get info on it ...

    I love surveys!

    I'm weird like that.

    But I would absolutely participate.

Default Yes, And Make Results Public

Anyone from Turbine able/willing to say (as even just a semi-accurate guess) what the number of voices here in forums are as compared to the whole of the population?

Surveys that are regular (or at least somewhat frequent - quarterly?), that are easy and simple for more players to contribute to... and for which the results are publically shown. It would be interesting to just have a leaning idea towards which concepts/ideas/voices from the forums more closely match the broader collection of people playing a game.

    Talking

Made a prior suggestion to equip the Succubi for the Degenev thing with clip boards. It's right in the marketplace.
