For those that claim this in no way will upset the balance of DDO, just have a quick look at how well the AC-system is working as of right now. This demonstrates the shortcomning of the d20-system, and if that basic mechanism is not about to change then further steps down the slope of power creep should be avoided for the good of the game.

This is under the basic but very likely assumption that if people buy +3 tomes now, they're gonna be back in the stores and higher level rewards will need to be implemented in game to encourage actual playing.

NO, definately not, ive plent hours upon hours of hard work for those tomes and I see no reason whatsoever why people with more money than me should be able to get the same with little to no effort.

Let them buy those ridiculous store pots if they want to spend their money on better stats..

Keeping tomes on TRs is a whole different matter though, that I fully support. Should +3 tomes be available in the store in the future, at the very least make it so those do not stay when TRing.

Using a thread to take a poll is ludicrous. There will be much fewer 'yes' votes posted because people don't want to be neg repped or lambasted for their honest answer to this controversial topic. If you want a real poll, then set up something on surveymonkey (or similar site) where it's anonymitized.

+1 to you for your honesty. That reason of why not is what, in my opinion, hides behind a high percentage of all the "no" answers given. Human, understandable way to see it. You sir, earned my respect in this matter.

You do realize that Tolero's announcement that +3 Tomes will soon be available in non-raids means that someone could conceivably pull the +3 Tome that you worked so hard on just by doing Fleshmakers, or Sleeping Dust, Dream Conspiracy, or whatever- right? Is that also too easy? Once the Tomes are no longer raid loot, they really shouldn't be treated any differently than the +2 tomes that are already available in the store.

I vote NO...selling raid loot in the store completely devalues raid loot.

But then again it doesn't really matter because I already cancelled my account and will not give Turbine another cent of my money. The Artificer debate caused that... this just backs it up.

Someone is in charge now who is after the bottom line...not really all that hard to figure out.

+3's and should be left at their current level draw only...

If that is ML 22 quest.. then fine.

    Yes.

+3 tomes are already eclipsed by +4 tomes. People who are serious about stats skip the HoX/VoD grind for +3s and go for +4s in the end game raids. I am far more offended by the presence of Mnemonic Pots than +3 tomes. It has a much bigger impact in game play IMHO. I would also be happy with removal of all questing based items (leaving only classes, races, quests, shared bank and hirelings) from the store. But as long as we have the store with tomes, I don't see why +3s shouldn't be there as well.

So how much would you be willing to pay every month to have all those things removed from the store? I'm just asking, I'm nnot trying to be a smart arse... Since those store items likely generate a signigicant amount of the revenue for this game. So if they charged $25 a month to VIPs and doubled the cost of allt he stroe items you approve of, would that be OK? Do you think that woudl create a viable model on the business side? Do you think it would increase or decrease the player base? Increase or ecreae revenue, not onyl in total but on a per account basis?

It's very easy for people, myself included, to stand back and lambast Turbine for the various decsions they make. But so little true thought is put into the reasons that they make the moves they do, and what the ramifications would be if what SOME of the players think is the solution to all the problems were implemented.

    Sure, why not? (aka yes)

People who suck won’t be suddenly awesome regardless of how much they buy from the store.

+3 tomes are like blue/black/white dragon armor, a grind for an end-game from years ago. The
current grind is for much bigger things, so I don’t mind if new kids can skip obsolete grind via
money or changes to the loot tables that are highly likely.

Just because we walked uphill in the snow both ways to the raid doesn’t mean our kids have to
    do so as well.

(Yes I have multiple “regular” +3 and +4 tomes)

I agree its a great business decision. There are enough people who will pay for them that I bet they are put in the store perminently, just like +2s were.

As a player, its a HUGE step and sets a precident for selling raid loot in the store (after they stated they wouldnt).

And please, its not really hard to understand the reasons why they make these types of decisions. True thought? LOL Understanding and agreeing are two different things. I feel that someone can clearly understand a point someone else is making and still not agree with it.

Anyone who gets neg repped for posting their opinion, and actually cares about it, can always report their post to have it removed. Doing it on the official forums ensures only people who actually play can vote, and prevents duplicate voting.

Of course peopel can disagree and still understand... But what I see here that's very common is simple ranting about things, and teh ever common "Cash Grab" blah blah blah.. Of course it's a cash grab, do the people saying such things have any clue about what it is to run a business, that often times you actually have to do something at least a good portion of your customer base won't like? The pressures of the big evil bottom line... Yes, you can easily make a decision that on the surface woudl appear to increase revenue, and have it backfirre.

Now I will hand it off to Chai, the great thinker!

Where resides the difficulty? You do realize that credit card issuers expect to paid back for the short terms loans they provide? Unless one is independently wealthy, the funds to satisfy such a debt are generally obtained through individual labor; i.e. WORK.
