Also, i´ve seen a good number of replies asking about the "dont care" part. They have a good number, but its hard to evaluate due to the number of replies. There are a lot of people that dont care and for those who posted your opinion, i think its nice for everyone so we can discuss.

    Thanks.

Default +3 Stats tome...Yes or no...

Just doing a simple tread to simplify things:

Question: Do you think that letting +3 Tomes to be bought is a good thing?

    Answer:Yes/No

The "why" of your answer may be given, but i wont count ;p Doing this thread more for a curiosity issue and to help, more than anything.

Will try to leave this post updated with the Yes/no count . Wont add any opinions without a clear yes or no,Plz add a clear answer on your post, thanks.

    My answer:No

    Cheers,

    Zess

    ----------------------------------------------

Despite i didnt want to do this, my answer is based on a thing...I´m more of a casual gamer, joined february 2010, got 4 capped toons...i´ve looted 1 +3 tome, 2 on end rewards, 0 +4 on over 300 raid runs...

Well, my point is: The pleasure of knowing that wasnt an easy thing, you fought for that item, u spent many hours. I do agree that sometimes the grind is "too much", but whats the point of buying the item?

"Like *click* *click* *ding $$$* There you go, 6 +3 tomes! "

The game is supposed to be fun, its not supposed to be pay2win, I know that the grind for tomes may be exhaustive and drop rates with new bosses do should be increased, but selling them is not something i agree too...

    Just my thoughts....

    Edit:
Shores posted this, basically what i think(desconsidering the massive grind):

    No.

Not any raid loot. And certainly not the rarest of all raid loot.

If +3 tomes become normal/standard loot in high level quests, and they adjust tome drops in raids to include +4's in Elite VoD/Shroud/Hound.... Normal-Hard ToD/LoB/MA.... and put +5's in Elite ToD, Elite/Epic LoB/MA.....

Then I would vote Yes, but only if this happens within a month of them going on sale in the store.

I agree raid loot shouldn't be in the DDO store, but I do think it's time +3's got knocked down a peg and +4's replace +3s and +5's get added in to "end game content"
Quoting a latter post, but like this poster, I'd change my position on the issue if +3s became unbound non-raid loot without artifically deflated drop rates. i.e. if they dropped in level 21+ content the way +2s drop in 17+ now.

    Default Yes

Yes, Please! On demand from the store, not just for a limited time (may have to build up Points and save VIP allocations before being able to take advantage of the offer).

My enjoyment of the game comes from running through the world from 1-20. The more capable I am while doing that, the more survivable I am... the better my experience.

Where the concept "Pay-to-Win" touches the psyche is I think the same place "Death Panels" did. I prefer to look at it as "Pay-to-Enjoy" because this stuff isn't auto-completing the game [for me, anyhow], but could be little bumps to making the journey and recurring journeys more *FUN*.

    I'm a yes.

    [unimportant stuff]
Will I buy one? No, I can do raids for them
Will it affect me if someone else in my group has bought one? Yes it means they are a better toon and grinding the raids will be easier. Oh wait sorry I forgot, people are saying that because +3 tomes are purchasable in store no one will run raids any more. I assume then what will happen is everyone will buy their +3 stat tomes, then stand around not questing... (that was sarcasm, btw)
And seriously if it makes someone happy to buy a +3 tome, good for them I'm glad they are enjoying themselves instead of banging on about how evil turbine are for wanting our money, no ****, its a business. They don't owe us as a playerbase anything. They sell a product, we buy the product, if you don't like the product, don't buy it. If they didn't make money they'd really suck at their jobs.

    No

EDIT: Thought that I wouldn't add anything, but this has to be repeated:
The whole game is about the challenge of getting loot take that away and the game looses it's meaning. Even MajorMalphunction said that getting the loot is the fun of the game. Now anyone can buy rare raid loot. As other have said in other threads next Turbine will "save you the boring grind" of getting an eSoS and finally we'll get to the "Epic Ring of Spell storing Christmas sale special just 29.99$".

    Yes.

Why: It removes the carrot from spending months continuously running quests that don't challenge you, and that you no longer enjoy in hopes of finding a useful one. So, for those people who are that addicted to DDO & improving their characters, they'll be having more fun with a store option. I'm sure you all know someone who repeats Reavers, Hound, VoD, DQ, Shroud, etc with multiple characters every 3 days trying for them on 20th lists - and often complaining while doing them too.

It's also not a big ingame bonus. I don't even bother eating +2 tomes unless I was lucky enough to find a useful one or from the Harbor guy.

That said, I hope it doesn't sell too much. Store tomes are a big waste of $ in my opinion - especially if you'll ever TR.

    Meh.

It will save me some Shrouding. Had planned on running enough 20s to get a full set of +3s but if they are not too pricey, I'll scoop up a set.

Really, I'd like to see better drop rates before putting them in the store but I'll take what I can get.

    Yes.

Because who really cares? If someone buys one or finds one in a chest it doesn't affect anyone else in the DDO universe except that one person.
All on Thelanis: Archenpaul Sixblade (Epic Triple Completionist), Archernicus Thornwood, Crestellin Moonwood, Gregorovic Redcloak, Jaklomeo Evermug, Jarladdin Nalfesne, Jonathraxius Kane, and Praetoreus Silvershield (Heroic Triple Completionist, Epic Triple Completionist.)

    Answer: Yes.

Actually, the answer I wanted to gis is that I don't see it as a "good" or "bad" think, more like indifferent thing. I don't have a problem with them selling them, but also wouldn't have an issue if they didn't.

Ultimately, I answeres yes because those who don't like it are not forced to purchase these items, and having more options is seldom a bad thing.

    Yes.

Really not that game breaking that I see. I MIGHT buy one that I need to to make life easier but it doesn't make that much difference in my gameplay either way. I have used the +2 Supreme from the store in the past so this isn't much different.

Just like to interject that that may be the point of the game for you (and many others no dought), but that doesn't mean it is the "whole point" for everyone. Some find the social aspect of sharing the game with others to be the point, still others find the challenge of making decent builds the point. It is a mater of perspective, not everyone approaches the game the same way or for the same reason.

But is it technically "raid loot"? I thought you could pull an unbound +3 tome, however rare...

Kind of splitting hairs if you ask me but it goes to the argument that well-geared players are typically good players. Now, well-geared players may just be well-funded players.

    Bad idea...
Thelanis - Lightbearer - Cleric 20, Sareeshi - Ranger 20 (TR from AA to AA, yea, that's right), Roggiegal - 16/2/2 Rogue, Pally, Fighter, Pyranas - TR Sorceres 19, Pallyguy - Pally 19, Littlebigman - 20/2 (dwarf) Ranger/Fighter (tempest), Locksmythe - 11 Rogue and others...
