Artificer Questions (about spells)

I have some questions about how artificer spells and was wondering if someone with experience can answer for me. Thanks in advance.


For spells "Toughen Construct" and "Reinforce Construct", do they only work on your dog and WFs or does it work on fleshies if they have "Construct Essence" feat?

The spell decriptions (at ddowiki) for all weapon enchant spells like "Enchant Weapon", "Elemental Weapons", "Personal Augmentation: Insightful Damage", "Cold Iron Weapons" say that you can only have 1 temporary enchant at a time. I read on another thread that you can have either Insightful damage or strike along with elemental weapon enchant at the same time. Is this true? Can you have insightful/elemental/silver enchant at the same time? What stacks and what doesn't or none does?

You can have Insightful Damage or Insightful Strikes and one other weapon augmentation. The Insightful line is a "personal augmentation" where as Shock Weapons, Silver Weapons, Evil Weapons, Good Weapons, Adamantine Weapons, etc. are all "weapon enchantments." It took me a few times to figure this out because it doesn't have a spell icon in your buff bar.

Just cast each - then mouse over your weapon - you will see the effects listed and timers....

But yes - Insightful X AND (Element OR Alignment OR Metaltype) is all that is allowed. For me it is almost always Insightful damage and Acid - and use House D bolts for any metal DR issue.


On your dog you can only do one of the Element OR Alignment OR Metaltype.

Toughen Construct etc... works any construct (you if WF, your dog, your WF party mates, your flame turret). They don't work on non FW - construct essence isn't enough.
