Don't worry too much about it, I've been told that too, then had the Barbarian Tank drop 20 seconds after Sulu dropped down. If it wasn't for my "Not A Tank" pure DoS Paladin grabbing Horath half way across the room on his way to pick off the Sulu beating crowd, the party might have had more then one death. We went on to complete, with no one else dying and I was able to keep the aggro through the final beat down.
Personally I fore see more SD and DoS Raid Tanking in the future, with the Monk than the Barbarian. Personally I think more healers will like this method a lot better.
But my all time favorite was a VoD looking for a WF tank, had 2 Clerics, 2 FvS and only 1 Arcane... Some just need to learn to play to their strengths.
Or when our bizzare new raid leader insists on having a WF arcane only to kite shadows. Cause, you know... My 567 hp Drow self healing PM with cold absorption couldn't possibly handle it.
In a way I am thankful that people let me know about their lack of game knowledge. It saves me time.

Ha, just stumbled upon this thread, and had a similar thing happen to me last week, only the other side of the coin.
Had 10 guildees in a ToD, bases covered, and posted the last 2 saying 'DPS preferred', willing to accept anyone that clicked. One guy PMed asking 'would you mind someone that can hold agro and has AC to make a healers job easy?' I laughed, expecting this to be a rhetorical question, as that sounds great, as I was going to be a the tank (18/2 barb, decent but not end game geared. Enough that its no worries in our guild runs). Took him, and he tanked for what was one of the smoothest runs I've been in a while. Never realized that the guy had probably gotten a ton of flack for asking the same question, which is weird for a normal ToD.
I ask the same thing on occasion. Usually I send a tell asking if the leader wants to do a harder difficulty for whichever of VoD or ToD that they are running, with a solid AC threat tank. Sometimes I'll say that I'll come along if I can tank, and will give some reassuring comments if prodded.
Mostly, at least for me, I built Ferrumrym to tank. He's okay DPS otherwise, very self-sufficient for short-manning and soloing and for when the **** hits the fan, but ultimately, I want to be tanking bosses with him. Any time I join a group and get shunted to random DPS, I feel like both I, and the group, have been done a (mild) disservice. I won't usually make a big deal about it if I'm in a group and get passed over, but I do occasionally request to be the tank as a requisite for my joining a group.

Oh, sorry to hear you finally met Syl.... the gimp that posts TOD LFMs & that doesn't know the first thing about tanking or healing.
My WF fvs was declined due to having 34 str on myddo & "not being healing focused" according to him.
My WF paly was declined due to being dps focused (42 str unbuffed in DoS Stance - so 42 in myddo) while I have 295% threat & 890 hp.
Dude do you just like abuse or were you trying to prove a point? You tried not once but twice to get into this tools group. You know there's a good chance it may never fill and if it does it's going to take at least an hour to fill. Then in the end there's a good chance this tool will lead the raid into a fail.
That sounds like a true masochist to me.
If I'm going to get flogged, I think I'd much rather it be by a hot blonde with a large rack dressed in leather than by this tool playing DDO.
I'm just saying![]()
If the toon is named after a beer 17 of them are mine & 1 more not named after a beer (the black sheep of the family). Beware there are a few beer imposters out there. Unless the toon has been "Banned From All Guilds" it's a fake Beer_Dude. Fake Beer in your group leaves a nasty taste.
