I had the same issue as the OP yesterday on Sarlona. No one dropped connection during the run that I noticed, but when time expired no auto-finish and no shards. We waited around for about 10 minutes trying to contact a GM, but no help so we recalled out.

Had the same thing on Khyber a few days ago. 300 shards down the drain, and another potential 300 for missing out on a 2nd run since we waited 30 min in the cave to get a reply on the tickets most of us submitted. Not to mention the 20 kobolds spamming us to mental death.

Afterwards I made another ticket if we could recuperate the lost shards somehow. Guess what. Got twice the exact same auto response (read: Unread tickets, closed with the standard generic response message detailing GM impotence/incompetence).

I havant had the issue with the event not closing when time ran out. But I have had kobolds gather at one torch and go completely inactive, once when it happened it ended up that the torch in front of them kept being placed slightly in the air, moving the line over a bit fixed it. The second time I was solo and pulled up the line and replaced it over a bit and they still wouldn't move. Both times it was when building to the west for me right at the front.

    Kobold always hate you.

had this issue happen to me again today, now im down like 596 crystals. Finished with time to spare, we may have had a DC but i could not tell if it happened before or after the end reward. Submitted a ticket and got this lovely response....

mmm support staff is uber, infant this response came so fast that they must be sending this response out to all people who give this ticket - it was barely enough time for them to read it.

Interesting how this seems to be a problem on this game as a rule for GM's here.

and final post in this thread:

Both from same person, but certainly food for thought when choosing a game to play.

Same deal, happened earlier. Party member DCed about 1 min before. No autoboot, no crystal message (and I believe no shards although I didn't double check at the time).

Same non-response from the GM. :/

    Unhappy

Happened to me today on a perfect cove lvl 25, should have received 300 shards got zip. One player dc-ed during the quest, and reconnected but no dice. Left inside with nothing for our efforts.

Man, what a drag, a perfect crystal run with loads of time to spare... Someone DC's in the last minute and bam the quest finishes and we get no shards or xp... Have to finish out. Serious drag...

I have almost no experience running Crystal Cove, except for a couple of runs with my guild. I was a scout in both of those runs and the leader just told me where to go and to let him know if I saw any purple crystals.

The next day I tried to solo, two levels below my character level.

As soon as I started I had a count of 36 crystals. As in, I start the quest and look in the upper right of my screen and I'm at 36 crystals. I hadn't done anything yet except walk a couple of steps into the quest.

Twenty minutes later, I was still at 36 crystals. I couldn't even get the kobolds to pick up the crystals that were in the main central chamber. I kept hearing them saying "Ohh, shiny!" and stuff like that, but they were just standing around. I believe I was setting out the torches properly, and I was killing any mobs that came by, but the kobolds were just not picking anything up.

I just chalked it up to inexperience and figured I was doing something wrong. Now, I don't know what to think. Apparently it was a bug.

The GMs might know about this happening which is not the same as having it added to their official "Known Issue" list.

Back when Mabar first came around people were DCing from the dragon fight to exploit it somehow. They might have added a failsafe code against the exploiters that is affecting the honest players. (as usual)

Just ran a cove event and....

Completed, finished should have gotten 210 shards... but no...

Did not get booted out of the quest with Green dragonshard rewards.
Stuck in quest, no one lagging, all just standing around waiting for the event to finish.

    Put in a trouble ticket.
got a cut and paste response to put in a bug report as this is not a known problem?!!!...
and auto closed my ticket without even responding to me directly as we waited in the quest.

Put another ticket in and finally got a GM to respond.
Resonse consisted of in-game GM cant help you may the silverflame guide you.
I Fumed as I thought where I would like to guide my silverflame...

Wasted an hour between running the event and waiting for a neutered GM to tell me they are incapable of fixing in game problems and even worse.. saying that it is not a known problem..

Seriously... empower your in-game GM's to be able to actually do something usefull.
