R.I.P. Devourer - 20-Aug-2010 11:00 GMT(+1 DST)(World Broadcast): World broadcast: 'Farewell to all our loyal players and thank you for your time in Eberron. We wish you all the best for your future adventures. Please log out now as the servers are now going down. Many thanks, Codemasters Online.'
Well just ran CC twice today... and both times it was a struggle to just get the quota.. not becuase the grp was poor but because the kobolds just wont follow the lantern lines, no matter how many times we picked up and relaid..... waste of time and effort.
Im beginning to agree with some of the other comments surrounding U11.. rushed out, lacked QA, no due diligence and just hope the music dies down and players keep spending... then again we could just blame the mushrooms again....![]()

I had the same issue yesterday.
I DCed at some point during CC, but I came back and we finished. After the end (and we did complete), nothing happened. We just stayed there inside the cove, I suspect we would be there forever if we didnt leave.
I heard from 2 other party members that they had the same issues regarding DC and no shards at the end with previous parties.
A little update:
Had the bug happen once again. I noticed a pattern with me - all the times it happened after I cast and used a ddoor, used it and ddo locked up on the spot (screen froze, but I could still hear people on the mic on party chat). I would then kill the client after a while and return. This would result in no rewards for us all.
Had the same problem as OP today.
One of our teammates DID DC a couple times during the quest, including right around when completion should have been (he might have even been in the process of DCing during what should have been completion, which woudl explain a few things)
The funny thing is - One of our VIP teammates put in a help ticket, only to have us wait around 10 minutes until a GM told him that the issues was NOT a known issue (or something along those lines - IE the GM had no idea how to help) and therefor the GM couldn't help in any way :/
Advice channel had quite a few people who'd experienced the same issue, so that brings me to question how the GMs have no knowledge of this bug and why they are unable to fix it?
I have been suffering from rampant disconnects (when this occurs with only a few minutes left on the timer, I am murdered and safely deposited outside of the Cove upon relogging -- this is the only time I have dragonshard/experience problems). I've had more inexplicable disconnections in the past two days than I've had in the entirety of my adventuring career, and it is a bit disheartening when I'm already not a huge fan of the repetition timed events put me up against.
It may be worth noting that my browser and other internet-connection-related programs are still running with no issue.. while my smooth solo run (or casual walk around town) turns into a yellow burst, and then a red burst, and then I'm tumbling in place, and then I've been booted from the world. I don't mind it so much on gem runs or when I'm just idling about the Crafting Hall, but when I'm two minutes from a fantastic completion and everything just goes pear shaped.. it is kind of irksome.
That said, I am super excited to have the Cove back. Especially with the whole Bound-to-Account thing saving me the trouble of having to transfer ingredients a thousand times over. I don't care what that kobold says; I -know- he loves me.![]()
just popping to say I have had the same issue, we had 198 shards collected, time ran out, quest completed and no rewards given. Ticked it in the dungeon with standard we cant help you response. Only thing our group could think of was that kobolds turned in from 197 to 198 during the quest completed to you get x exp and x shards.
Also have had kobolds stuck/bugged out on a (ridge? bump?) just before the south room in the central area (where you zone into). No screen shots, restarted instance and had no more problems.
Cannith server.
cheers
This happened to me as well. BTW, is the event being extended, or did we just lose 10 days?
Ok, this was kind of "someone else" issue until happened to me lol, we got one to dc and cove never took us out after completion.
I did not counted my shards at the time but a guildy said we didn't got em.
I understand it is ocasionally and just redo but DCs occur quite often to not have some measure built in.
Besides it brings down the party morale :/
As for getting the bug when not DC'ing i believe u can have a faulty connection without actually losing link.
Some latency hiccups can go undetected, a lot of times they are brief enough so that windows never detect it but ddo still timesout.
And i believe ddo's timeout is too short, the router always reconnects asap but the client never regain link or still closes.
It's really a matter of a few more seconds, so it'd be great if you could raise your timeout in the configuration by at least 30 seconds.

We had a DC just near the end of a cc, and we got no shards, even when he came back. Also, put in a request for online gm help, and told me too bad so sad and not a known bug, file a bug report....
Mobility, proud leader of Bane on Thelanis ~ I am either loved or hated, there is no in between. (Self declared Ultimate Piker, though I now give my crown to Ranit. He has guildies log his toons and play his toons for him. Getting xp and not even playing the game? He wins)
We had one of these too. One group member disconnected 1 minute before end and no shards.
We had the same thing a few days ago. Not sure if anyone disconnected during the run, I thought not but may have missed it. We sure were all there and active towards the end. Full run, CR22, but no actual ending, we just stood there. I filed a bug report (no response so far), another player did likewise and was told Tough Cookies by a DM.
Hope you find/fix the bug soon!
Happened to me yesterday. Got no shards or XP.
One of our party members was running in place (disconnecting) when there was 20 seconds on the clock. When he reconnected, about 2 minutes after the quest was listed 'completed' with all of us still trapped inside the cove, there were still no xp or shard rewards given.

I posted a thread asking about that same thing a day or two ago here:

I figure we lost about half the event and I'd really like to see it extended or returned soon to make up the other half. Knowing it would be extended or come back would allow me to plan, otherwise I'll have to spend the last day or two of this session spending my doubloons/shards as best I can.
Not only is the extension important, but knowing it will come is important. Someone should tell the marketing people who make these decisions that customer satisfaction (and any revenue) is tied directly to both the predictability and length of the event. Since this event started halfway through its scheduled period, I don't understand what magical constraints prevent it from being extended. I would have thought some explanation would have come with the announcement of the return of the event by way of explanation.
Anyway, I hope it does get extended or comes back. 10 days can go very fast when you have a lot going on (which is one of the driving forces I come to DDO when I can to escape all that!)
I'm guessing that the +3 tomes in the DDO store is not the "something exciting". Especially when Hallowe'en is in October and having Maban + Cove running together at the same time would probably cripple the DDO servers.
I don't anticipate that Maban will come back exactly on October 10th, but it would make sense that Turbine would turn off the Cove in order to allow for the Hallowe'en event's return.
I just hope that they give us a few days to run regular raids after the Cove is gone and before Maban returns.
