    Default My morning LolShroud.

Pretty smooth run, actually. Portals went down fast, 1/2 of the FvS had Divine Punishment, Harry was a one-rounder, no unusual deaths. Puzzles solved in a reasonable manner.

Oh... save for that Part 2 thing.

Put it out to your guildies running Arcanes for the first time. If they are the only Arcane in a Shroud, they will likely be asked to handle the Crystal.

So we have this Water Savant, yeah? I like Water Savants. Maybe because I play one.

The Sorc is Mysterious man "S".

So.. yeah. In the end, me and the other Bard Greater Shout-ed the Crystal to death.

Thank you for this morning's excitement, Mr. S.

    Now, for the helpful part...

Sarlona, in every young caster's life, there may come a time when the party depends on them to do a certain job. If such is the case, it is probably smart to stop what you're doing, and wait for clear instructions on what is necessary of you... not to Polar Ray and DoT Kasquik until no one can tear him away from you in the time it takes me to type two sentences.

The Crystal in Part 2 can be dropped (normally) with a Single Disintegrate. And if not, a Disintegrate + Polar Ray Combo.

Here is what happens in normal slow-mo parties:
    • We clear trash.
    • Some buffs might get tossed.
    • Someone goes to pull.
    • After mobs are pulled, and all four are aggro-ed onto someone else, you as the Sorc/Wiz go up to the crystal, which is in the center of the map.
    • At this point, it has a barrier around it - we'll get to that.
    • The four boss mobs get prepped. When all are prepped, they get killed.
    • When all four are dead, that nasty barrier around the Crystal goes down.
    • Disintegrate.
    • Polar Ray.
    • Disintegrate.
    • Polar Ray.
    • Repeat these two until there is no longer a Crystal.
    • Loot.
    • Move on to Part 3.

Now you know, and knowing is half the battle!

It takes more than 1 disintegrate? I never pay attention lol, wait for barrier to fall, target crystal, hit 2(dis key) and run to loot.

It only takes 1. But I thought I'd add the extra spells for safety purposes. That, or in case someone neglected Empower, Maximize, and Superior Potency VI.

Or hey, I suppose the Crystal can roll a 20 on it's save every now and then. Might not break. /shrug

What, there were no Rangers to Manyshot it?? Heck, even if they helped drop the bosses they can still run up there fast enough to take out the crystal

Similar thing happened to me last night.

There were two arcanes in the raid, neither had ever done crystal.

One volunteers and says it shouldn't be a problem. Fire goes down... Nothing. People start yelling to get the crystal. The sorc says "it hasn't appeared yet", followed by "where is it"

    Then another says "look up".

Anyway, I thought it was pretty funny and I think most other people did too. It took a second round of killing but no other bumps in that Shroud.
-Anything is possible....if you don't understand the problem.
-Better to be perceived a fool than to open ones mouth and remove all doubt.
-Luck is simply a crossroads between circumstance and knowledge, both are things you can control.

Let's just say, "Guilty as charged."

It's a classic example of, "You don't know what you don't know." And those teaching you forget what you don't know.

That was me exactly on my first shroud run. Not just with my sorc, but ever (sorc was my first character to cap). Guild leader gave me instructions to destroy the crystal with firewall (pre firewall nerf). Before I was a water savant, I thought that was my sole responsibility in part two: pike and then destroy crystal. Anyway back to story at hand, they killed the lieutenants and I didn't kill the crystal. I let them know that the crystal seemed impervious to my firewalls. Guild leader runs into the center and just busts up laughing over party chat. He shared my newbness to everyone else once he finally caught his breath from laughing, "I don't think I've seen so many firewalls in one room before. You guys got to see this, Asterphen has literally covered the walls, and floor, basically everywhere but the ceiling with firewalls."

No one told me the crystal was on the ceiling, I kept waiting for it to appear in the middle of the room.

Ya live, ya learn, ya have fun playing the game.

    EDIT:
I want to make sure the tone of my post is accurate. I want to make sure I am not piling on or adding fuel to the fire, just sharing my funny experience too. I, along with everyone else, had a good laugh at my expense for not knowing how to destroy crystal correctly. My guild uses voice, and my guild leader is a good friend. I took it lightly and not personally, no one got mad and noe one made fun of me. Again ya live, ya learn, and I have fun

You could have, you know, actually explained to the sorc the mechanics of destroying the crystal. Like how you have to mouse, or wait for the barrier to drop to target it. You could have also shown him where the crystal is located, but having him guess works too. If you had provided him the instructions in this post before the start of part 2, then there would have more than likely been no problem, but from the screenshot that didn't happen. Looks like an explanation fail to me, but it's cool to make fun of new people, so carry on.

Considering by the time I got out those two (rather fast) lines of information, he'd already glued Kasquik to him - yeah, I wasn't going to bother.

Saying "I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO GUYZ!!!oneone!11!" And then proceeding to blast the closest mob with every spell in your list is not the way to get me to explain stuff to you.

And to the both of you - maybe you didn't read the full post? You know, the part where I do indeed go on to explain in this post how to be an Arcane in Part 2 of the Shroud.

Edit : Ohwait... Thelanis? I thought I posted this in Sarlona.. oh I did. What are you doing here? Shoo.

Sorry, don't read Facebook/Blogs/Social Media sites. The forums is plenty enough garbage for me, but please don't let that stop you.

As for not explaining it - it's Shroud. It is now three years old. It has been a part of the game since well before I joined this game.

If someone doesn't know something, it's as simple as "hey guys, first timer" or "Hi y'all, haven't done this much", etc. I've spent entire runs typing out a **** thesis statement making sure people know exactly where and how to be. But no, instead of receiving this courtesy, the player joined, and when asked to do a common task for their class, instead said "Oh I don't know how George!" and proceeded to do their own thing anyway.

Sorry that in the time he'd burned 600 SP on a single miniboss, I didn't have time for the "hold-your-hand explanation" that you two seem to be hoping for. Maybe if Mr. Itchy Fingers hadn't started blasting like it was going out of style, I would have had an opportunity.

But hey, I'm a bad guy. If it makes you feel better about yourself, that is.
