Epic SoS Augment Help

Hi got the epic SoS finally for my barb. was just wondering what the way to go with augment slots is....

heres my gear:
DT armor - 10% healing amp, 20% healing amp, corrosive salt gaurd
epic Claw Set
Minos
Madstone Boots
Encrusted Ring
Knosts belt
GS Googles of Earth +45 hps
Epic Envenomed Cloak
Shintao Cord
Kyoshos Ring

I was thinking of doing luck +2, and Good Aligned DR bypass....what have others done...thanks for help advice..

I also know its all a matter of what you want/like, just wanna see some recommendations and others ways,

If you can bypass DR with it, the eSoS is objectively the best THF weapon in the game. With basic crystals, your DR-breaking options are fairly limited, but with Devil Assault crystals (red slot) you can bypass any important DR in game (e.g. Silver & Good). With that said, it is worth pointing out that the eSoS with a basic Good crystal will break many DRs (Adamantine & Good) in the new Cannith pack.

Luck +2 is a blue crystal, so you can't slot it in your eSoS.

yea with devil assualt i see i can get metalline which is nice...but as far as that goes i dont have any, so I am just figuring to go Good DR bypass which i think is for devils, pit fiends (arraetrikios), horned devils (suulomades), Mariliths, wont help on the epic dragon runs but will def help.....

As far as i understand now with epic upgrade, all epic bosses have DR if im not mistaken....so would that mean that Im better with MIN II GA rather than eSoS?

Devil Assault can give Metalline, but that is not a good choice for the eSoS. You want Silver & Good damage for pit fiend / devil bosses or Cold Iron & Good damage for mariliths. As the eSoS has none of those inherently, you would ideally want a crystal that supplies both in one.

Epic bosses were all given fortification, not DR. This somewhat decreases the eSoS' extreme advantage due to critical profile, but is not something you can augment around.

The Min 2's advantage is versatility. It is not the best at anything. Depending on your particular build and gear, you may be better off with an eSoS that does not bypass DR than a Min 2 against certain targets, but frankly neither is a great option. If those are your only two options I would stick with the eSoS just because... it's an eSoS, come on. You didn't grind a millions billions dragons to leave it in your backpack.

I think you simply must slot good, period. This will break LoB DR, and the DR of normal orthons/horned devils. For Devil Raidboss DR you simply need an artificer in the party.

Slot a permanent Good crystal, unless you have the resources to trade for special Devil Assault crystals.

In that case, Aligned Planes if you run a wide variety of Epics, Demon's Ruin if you run a lot of eDQ2s, and Devil's Ruin if you run lots of Devil raids.



As for the colorless slot - +6 Dex if you don't have it on a ring (that provides +3 to Reflex saves). Otherwise whatever.

Tod ring holy burst only affect handwraps (unarmed strike) you just wasted your trophy on it

Actually i have neither an sos or TOD ring on the one toon I would get an sos for...

I'm still grinding for my holyburst for the one toon I have a ring to put it on - and in the meantime, a better ring to put it on

In the red slot , Good DR breaker is the only one choice, in the other slot i had set CON +1 but it depends more in your own equipment. u cant put good luck , that its for blue augments.

Personally, I keep my ESoS's red slot filled with good, the colorless may be filled when I have enough tokens to get to it.

I'm insane enough to be working on a second ESoS for pit fiend/horned devil DR breaking, keeping it augmented with Devil's Ruin, but once again, that's just because I'm insane.

That is insane. You will spend less time/money crafting better beaters than trying to get a 2nd SOS shard. If you already have another SOS shard.... **** you.

I'm running eVelah to get other stuff for other toons, including a couple red dragon shards, so I don't feel like I'm THAT insane for looking for another SoS shard. >_>

May also just make artificers start running with me...or stock-pile artificer scrolls, and hand them to someone with UMD. Make them silver my SoS for me.
