    Default Lag question

First and foremost, I do apologise if this is the wrong forum, I do not know if this is the right forum for this question, but I need to ask.

I have been playing ddo for well, you can see it in my profile, I used to play on another account in beta, but that is irrelevant to my question. I know that every time there is a new patch, new update or anything, EVERYTHING seems to get real bad on the lag aspect of it.

Since the new patch, the lag has become espically worse. I recently learned about hitting Ctrl and F to see my framerate. (I am not a technical genius, never really cared to learn all this, but now I am tempted to learn more.)

My framerate is dropping to 3-6 FPS (if I am using the correct terminology) and at multiple points, I was stuck in one position for at least 5 minutes before it spiked to 130, and once any new animation came about, firing a bow, my dog using an ability, anything, I dropped back down to the 3-6 range.

Is there something I can do to fix this, or is this more on Turbine's side? I have been running virus scans and even went to un installing and re installing the game with no dice.

Thank you anyone and everyone who can help, and please, excuse my grammar and spelling :P I tried my best.

Your grammar and spelling is excellent.

I'm no tech wizzie, but perhaps you can try to optimise your PC. Delete unnecessary files, run a cleaner programme (I personally recommend Glary Utilities), and defrag your drive.

Then check for antivirus softwares and other background software, and disable them when running DDO.

Other stuff like maybe increase the RAM for your PC, or a quick alternative is to plug in a USB flash drive and use Windows QuickBoost to use the flash drive as temporary additional memory.

    Hope this helps!

Video card problems can also cause lag. If the lag you are experiencing happens every now and again, then only happens for about 1 minute a time, then this can indicate such problems.

I started experiencing this yet again a few days ago and now have a fan pointed at my video card to keep it cool. Don't have the money at the moment to replace it. I haven't had any lag issues since I pointed the fan at it.
