    Default XP Bank on TR

I had an idea while making breakfast and planning the next TR, especially the first time around. You spend quite a bit of time running quests and building gear for your next life while sitting at level 20. Lots of XP never gets collected.

It would be nice if you could build up an XP bank for the first 5-10 levels of XP for TR. It would slow down the XP grind, reduce the complaints of newer players talking about overpowered zerg TR's and make it somewhat quicker.

    Just my suggestion.

That wouldn't make much sense to the spirit of things. A TR "loses" all experience from their previous life, but you are suggesting that they dont and that you can carry over some. It doesn't make sense. I mean if you can't even carry over powerful tome magic... I don't think banked XP would survive the change either.

Er, what do you hate about it? Or, better question, what do you like about it?

It just seems odd-- the fun of TRing should be somewhere in the fun of leveling all over again, right?

@OP: Eh, I guess the hardcore players will get their TRs capped repeatedly one way or other, so maybe it doesn't matter. I feel like this idea goes against the point of TRing, though-- to be able to experience leveling a bit stronger over a bit more time.

Really, can you link it? I hadn't seen or heard anything about this. I'd hazard a guess it'll only be store bought ones or something silly like that.

Perhaps you "spend quite a bit of time running quests and building gear for your next life while sitting at level 20" but many hit 20 and TR right away.

Leveling up is fun, and even easier than ever thanks to the new exp bonuses.

    Before U11:
Elite = +50% XP the first time

    After U11:
    Elite with Streak = +150% XP (80% +20% +50%)

TR and geared characters now run at least the lower level content on elite once, and that is enough for them to level up.

Casual players can't do a level 3 quest on elite at level 3, so they won't play with the zergers.

    SS or it didn't happen.

Seriously though, I find it hard to believe so please forgive me if I don't believe it until I've read it myself.

Most people in that thread don't believe it too - included myself. Madfloyd suggest that he think about it, but nothing more. I do not have SS.

Maybe Madfloyd work on some improvements into TR, or rework whole TR idea? Who know.

EDIT: Look at this thread. There are some people that see that too.

After the 1st TR, I concur that you usually hit 20 and the reset button, but that first time, just getting your 1st greensteel built up and waiting for raid timer, you lose lots of XP to the non-xp hole.

I concur that having an XP bank defeats much of the ideals of D&D, but what doesn't lately in DDO? I'm betting that if there was an option upon TR to carry over XP or drop all banked XP on TR, most of the players would select keep the XP and avoid some of the levels.

Part of my issue with the TR wasn't the requirement to level from 1 or have the additional XP requirements, it was the doing WW and STK for the 7 millionth time since 2006. At least we now have TR, you used to have delete and reroll. Much improved over old model.

But the discussion brought up my other pet peeve with TR - for the love of whichever DDO god you ascribe to, let me keep my tomes. Don't let me add new tome bonuses, but at least let me keep my tomes.
