Default Suggestion: guild names in the LFM list

please put guild names in the LFM list

a picture says a thousand words:

Groups with many players from the same guild are more attractive, because it's likely that you are joining a tight knit community who know how to run a raid. All the information is available from the /who command, it's just making it easier and quicker to come to the same decision.

The icing on the cake would be to have customisable sort order so I could then sort by guild name.

    Thank you for reading!

To save time for people like me that are going to look up a couple group members in who tab before we consider joining anyway.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who does this!

Is Sarlona's Band of Gypsies spelled correctly?

If they are, can you get some of them to come over to Khyber and convince The Band of Gypsy's to shell out the cash for a Guild rename?

Glad I'm not the only one that's annoyed by that whenever I see it. Yes, the correct pluralization is "gypsies."

As a member of the *ahem* reputation guild...

    /Signed!

Please, save those poor elite players from us, so they can stop coming over and over to tell the sad-but-fun story about how they had a terrible time and this and that...

On the serious side, I never care about people's guilds when I join an LFM or start my own. Why? Because more times than not it means.. well, nothing. I've found skilled people in guilds supossed to be a Gimp-pileon-festival, and not so skilled ones in some so called "elite" guilds. That regarding play skills, which are not my primary concern either. I play to have fun, and sure, it's fun (to me) if you complete the quest and it haven't took you hours to do so... But I never freak if something goes wrong, or a wipe happens. **** happens, they say. And that's it. It's a game, so it's not as if someone had killed my mom or anything. My primaru concern is the player itself. If a person doesn't know better, is new, has not uber gaming skills... never mind, as long as he is a nice person to run with (polite, friendly, sense of humor).. But I can see that's what I look for, and understand how others "need" to run with like minded players which are more likely to be found in certain guilds, so fine, If this new tool helps them to do so, is a nice feature after all. Signed all the way in. I'll keep doing as before, joining/creating PuGs and focusing on the players, not their guilds.

P.S: Also, when I get to know that this or that guild are ****, and one should avoid their members... Don't know why, but it's precisely then that I need to go and party with them, and more often than not, I found that the "reputation" is undeserved.

I really like the idea! I do... but I don't see it happening, and even if it does happen, probably won't go over so well. Bad enough that we have people seriously judging others based on HP, but with that, they can judge based on guild as well. So... I guess if people weren't such a pain in general, I'd say AWESOME! YES!

    /signed anyways.

Just to be clear - it's not about judging a guild, it's about finding a group that already has a high percentage of people in the same guild - if a raid group is formed from 6-8 people from the same guild I think it's fair to say that, on average, it's going to be a more successful group than a group formed of complete strangers, regardless of which guild it is. Also - you can already get the information by just /who every member... it just takes a while

Exactly. I know its not about it, but that is what will probably happen, and yea you can /who every member, but you can also MyDDO every member as well... regardless, look what has happened so far with the HP. Don't get me wrong though. I love the idea and support it, I just hope it wouldn't be used as more of a grieving tool.

I already don't join groups because of certain guilds as I think most people do, it would be nice not to have to look up the leader's guild everytime at least. I look up leader than sort to their guild to see how many are in a run.

I have not seen anyone booted from any raid I've been in because of HP--I was iwth a a 295 HP clericon echrono and 300HP rogue to TOD and Epic Velah, amongst others. I haven't even read about people being booted in any of the user chats that I am in. Perhaps this is more server oriented, but I'd think that there would be more posts than there are if this was rampant behaviour.

Seconded. Plus it's nice for those of us with poor memory to see a friendly guild name- I remember those far more easily than toon names.

Would be nice to have, esp for higher lvl raids/epics.

Also, I think the whole 'grieving' from hp bars is overrated, if anything it helps healers judge resource/problems before the encounters instead of recovering mid-fight, but that's just me, don't want to derall the thread further.

    Thumbs up

    I like the idea!
I find myself checking certain players in lfms to see if it's run by a few guilds I refuse to quest with, (2 nights ago in a HoX pug, is a classic example, I wont mention the guild here, but on Thelanis, they have a *ahem* reputation. Needless to say, myself & a guy from DARPA had a laugh, and the 2 of us didnt even need to let each other know what needed to be done. We tried to save the run, but it was pointless. In fact almost a circus!)

I think this causes more drama...but if it is deemed necessary, please do NOT make it like that picture in the OP. Maybe just have it like the Who tab but instead of having their location underneath their names in a smaller font, it would have their guild name.

Personally, I have lots of issues with this though but if it HAD to be done...:P

It just hands itself to more elitism...

I don't think it encourages elitism. Another option would be to put 'Guild 1' and 'Guild 2' and 'Guild 3' so it's not about the guilds but about the same guild... but I really think that's just making it overly complex.

I find the location really useful - especially when a raid is forming, nice to know if people are ready or on their way or on their airship still (i.e. do I have time to buff myself).

    How about this:

    Garth 20/ftr (Kensei) Haeson 20/clr Cairis 12/ftr 6/rgr 2/rog Xortan 20/wiz

Yeah I like the layout of that better. Its not that I want this to REPLACE the location (cause yes, I find it extremely useful as well). I just don't want the menu to become overly large laterally because my screen isn't that big

I'm not sure why I got neg rep'd on my previous post but okay...
