I'm not usually a ragequitter for ddo. when i take a break i just leave no drama. well cept a little trollin on the forums but never a I HATE THIS GAME I'M LEAVING thread. but i'll be honest my sub is up soon and having to play an event that isn't out or a mod that isn't working worth a [junk] or a class that isn't finished vs a nice shiny new game, i may be tempted to check it out.

usually don't like hitting up games on release due to the usual no content for the first year while ironing out the bugs. mebe D3 be out soon

Yeah, I'm waiting with baited breath for that one!

I hate rules change but love new content, and a player generated content mechanism insures content can be released independently of rules changes and also insures a steady stream of new adventures, even if some may be second tier.

And the fact that it's F2P means it won't cost me anything to try it, and insures a large base of players to try it with.

And honestly, a F2P launch means they will be a little bit tight for cash and maybe won't be making too many changes too soon, which gets back to the "I don't like rules changes" thing.

Most of my PnP group will try SWOR, but *EVERYONE* is excited about NW

I will give it a shot after its been out about 3 months. I gave AoC (Conan) a shot and cancelled DDO for a few months and was really happy when I came back.

What I will do is buy Battlefield 3 when it comes out in late October. I friggen can't wait!

Anyway, as I said before: WoW is a terrible game not because of the GAME it is because of its poor COMMUNITY.

I have to differ with you on that. You have the same ratio of personalities in both games, only one has a larger volume of players.

If you're looking for info out of Blizzard forums, well, that's like looking for something in an AIM chatroom instead of going to IRC.

For starters though I'd suggest the:

pve theorycrafting- www.elitistjerks.com

pvp theorycrafting- www.arenajunkies.com


Of course there are a plethora of other sites but these two are pretty run of the mill. The better ones are invite only (which is funny because iirc EJ was invite only at one point).

There are also independent game databases for anything you need to look up.

Anyways, I'm probably going to peep SW when it comes out. Personally, it's a deviation from what I have been playing the last 6 months. Bioware hasn't disappointed me in other titles. It's either that or buy a console game for the same price only to have it collect dust with the others in a matter of weeks.

Well, I didn't mean trying to ask the community for information, I used Wowhead. As far as the community I dealt with though I mean the dross server dungeon finder deal. I had more people drop for asinine reasons than any other game I have every played. Just seemed ridiculous the way people acted in groups.

-addons ... need i say more?
-bots ... again... nuff said
-snobs ... ddo has nothing on wow in this area, though snobs exist everywhere
-vanilla characters ... almost 0 ZEro customization... though in ddo it is assumed you know what is #1 and do it
-cartoon world ... unfortunate that the word 'toon' became synonymous with 'avatar'... avatar is so much better
-unrealistic gameplay ... i can understand being able to run-through/overlap your allies, but not the enemy/opponent
-leveling ... whether crafting or whatever... it begins to all look the same, be the same, different flavor/numbers
-overpowered ... a few clicks and button presses and ouila (?) wahlah, you are dead in 0.63 seconds
-false pride ... ultimately it boils down to taking pride in unreality, at the expense of reality... seems ddo is more pve centric, party fun, adventuring, rather than out ganking everyone else (except for the TR's of course)

I will be going. I have played DDO since Beta. Whenever the next "big" games comes out, i give it a try. I did it for WAR, StarTrek, RIFT, etc. I tend to play it for a few months and then end up coming back. DDO has alot of good things but it also has alot of areas where it is lacking. If Starwars can be fun for a while, i am fine with it. DDO will alway be here if/when i want to come back.
