    Default Blown to Bits

I love this quest. TY TY TY TY

A couple of suggestions. I am guessing that the intended behavior was not for us to blow each other up, giggling like school girls. This is what happened though. I don't think this will change either. It is just to much fun. On normal, if it is possible, turn off item damage. I know that it is a risk we willingly take, but I am not sure that having perma damaged items is a result you were looking for.

One more suggestion. I am going to say it and I might get flamed for this -
Make a 12 man Blown 2 Bits instance. Make it huge. I will report back in February when I have got all of this blowing people up out of my system.

You're welcome! Actually, blowing your friends up was fully accounted for in the design. In fact, we had a lot of fun in our own internal testing with that mechanic! Why do you think there are so many Resurrection Shrines around?

Make it epic. No shrines around.

I will buy 500000 turbine points if you let me take those charges out of the quest. Heck, I would send you a check directly. What can you buy off a dev for? NAME YOUR PRICE!

    Default Weapon deterioration

After fighting my way through the wilderness area then doing a couple quests, I went and bought a back-up smiter to guaranty I could finish the quests with a weapon still in my hand. Don't get me wrong, I had lots of fun and picked up three named items in the flagging quests, but my weapons were practically blown to bits. Also, I didn't have the proper resources to beat on the bomber for half an hour with my wife's toon healing me constantly. Now that I know what to expect, next time I will be ready for it.

I love the fact that planting a demolition charge has the same animation as opening a chest.

IIRC, items do not take permanent damage from dying.

I love when the party is all over the place setting charges and then someone runs to the backside of a bunch of crates I just set the charges ot and you here someone in voicechat going - what just blew me up???

I saw someone die midair - noticed the charge I just set and tried to jump away and died midjump with the souldstone dropping down. Wish I had a picture for that one.

heh. They kinda take the challenge out of elite tho.

Give it epic, have all the monsters drop charges like the iron bomber, and remove all the shrines. Actaully set it to have a 1000 minute grip of death debuff too =)

and beholders, lots of beholders. buffs are overpowered.

Elite Blown to Bits was easily some of the most fun I've ever had in DDO. We got so frustrated with the obscene hit points on even trash mobs, we took to using Music of Makers and simultaneously laying 2-5 charges around a monster. I remember how excited one my teammates was to discover that he could blow himself up: "Hey! If you lay one explosive right after the other, you can place two before they go off!"

Default Quick question for you Bits experts..

When I take on The Bomber I die, my group dies, and it says:

    "freddie killed freddie."

Please tell me what the bomber did to make us kill ourselves and what I can do about it so I can hang around long enough to make him into Bomber-Bits?

Love the concept..love the shrines..."Lookit all the Shrinies!"

He drops short fused demolition charges. He gives out warnings when he does so, and you need to move immediately or you probably won't make it.

Just completed this on Elite last night. The group was a good one as no one quit after multiple deaths. By the end a couple of our party members were running around naked because they had died so many times.

I know the next time I run this on Elite I am bringing some extra armor around. Having a Dwarf and Horc running around naked is NOT my idea of a good time!

This is why we need to get them out of the quest.

I tried again, couldn't detect the warnings, what am I missing?

For some reason after I die and resurrect I can't seem to damage him further.

Clearly, I need an advanved course in DDO Big Boss Slaying

2 ways you can spot the warning.

    1. You will see him sort of flash when he drops a bomb.
    2. You can keep your general chat open and every time you see him speak he has just dropped a bomb.

Switch your chat from party to general, and as soon as the boss says anything, run!

    Ooooh... such an evil idea...BWAHAHAHAHHAA

    @Shade buffs? huh? HUH?

It amuses me greatly when new groups who don't know this quest zone in and we all buff at the door as per usual. Always good to play along.
