    Default Visual Cloaks

Ok, so we have to ability to toggle whether we want to see our helm or not, now we can show our goggles, but what about cloaks??

I know some may think OG no it'l look like so tacky but alot of people ive asked think it'd be a great idea. Not to show them and have them pinned to the back but 3D and waving around a little, it'd look great, we could look more uber :P

BUT...and here's where turbine benefits!!... With this idea could bring about new armor kit add ons? every one loves the appearance kits, they were a genius idea granted, but if we could toggle cloak visualization, i for one, along with so many others would pay to put a kit on my cloak so as not to have it look like all other cloaks.

Just an idea, and im sure lots will agree its a good one, remember more options makes for a happier gaming community

    hold your horses.

appearance kits were the, imo, laziest implementations of customisation. many people would've prefred an ability to mix and match the existing armours/robes/outfits seperate sections (much like we do a character creation) as well as some form of colour dying.

offering exclusive kits (which afiak are still yet to appear in random loot as promised, please correct me if i'm wrong) each with a fixed appearance is hardly custom.

that said i have purchased a kit for my DT. i'd still preferend to have at the least colour dyed different sections of it, if not swap the inner/outer layer around.

    on topic:

can't say i'm a fan of the goggles, but then i've maybe not found a pair i like. however it was a good addition. cloaks would be as well (not to mention, boots, gloves, bracers, belts...) BUT only if they look right which i doubt would be possible... it annoys me when my hairstyle clips though a particularly high collar. i'd hate to see my feet kicking up through the cape whilst i ran.

beside, before cloaks i'd much rather see /sheath actually do its job. actually having a shiled strapped to your back and a sword hanging from your side would not only be easier (as they're solid items that dont' need to "flow" to look convincing) but infinately cooler.

And also yeh the idea of being able to swap out sections or armor or color dye certain parts would be great, but imo with the crafting system going on and they new pack/class it would be asking too much at this time, not to say it would be a great add on some time in the future when it wouldn't put too much work on them at one time.

But you know for a fact if they do allow this you won't be allowed work with named items, more and more people will make chain shirts look like marilith chain... i know i would XD which will cause confusion and all sorts so there would have to be some limits, but give turbine the idea of limiting something and were going down the wrong path XD

Kidding aside it would be a great idea, and yeh the cloak would have to be just right. It will either look wonderful or horrible.

I like the idea of being able to see your cloak. I'd really like it if they implemented something like the Guild Wars cloaks, where you have a guild cloak and you can design the emblem to show on it.....

This has been brought up before and I do like the idea. I would like to state that I personally consider it low priority when compared to other issues.

To add.... work with both ideas brought up, design armor color and look to match kinda like a guild uniform if the cloak idea doesnt work??

implementing a guild emblem would be an awesome idea.

even if only as an arm band style overlay (i can only think any other method would require going over all the current art assests, which would be a mammoth job).

would definately increase the sense of belonging to a guild.

Cloaks are way more work. Helmets and googles aren't animated, but cloaks..

If you applied this attitude to everything visual in the game, DDO would be D&D-MUD

I still don't get why they didn't just import the cosmetic system from LOTRO.

    /signed.

Also, a way to show both goggles and helms at the same time (even if they just overlap for now, some would work that way, some wouldn't look good, but not too much extra work) and maybe a way to toggle the angle our swords/axes are held.

Also, not low priority, but not as important as bugs. Do druids first, then this, then finish PREs. IMO.

Listen... if we have beards and hairdos that clip with armor in a horrible way... what do you think Cloaks would look like?

    Yeah, exactly.

My dwarves want better "flowing" beards before they want a cloak.

if I remember right, LOTRO engine support more visible equipment, like cloaks and gloves. Copy and Paste code?
