So I have had DDO for a few days now, and bought 32 point builds, but I am struggling to come up with a good Monk build to play.

This is what I have come up with so far. Is it any good? What would you change?

Obviously it's a Weapon Finesse Dexterity Build focussing on Light and Shintao - is Shintao worth it? A lot of people in game told me it is, though I'm not really sure what it does, haha.

Is Racial Toughness 2 enough, because I can't find a way of getting it with Shintao + high recovery enhancements.

I'm focussing on Concentration/Balance/Spot/Jump for my Skills, with 1 rank in Tumble, but some people are telling me I should drop something and put it in UMD instead ?

Also, are my Attributes ok :P ?

As far as I am aware, enhancements and feats can be "respecced", but your Skills and Attributes cannot, so those are the important ones to get right.

Obviously I am a noob, so any help would be appreciated.

Finesse builds arent popular at end game since AC wont help you there and Strength based chars do more damage.
But your build is nicely done.

Shintao is a good choice. For higher levels, you get to break important Damage Reductions natively with your attacks while for Dark Monks, those DRs would be bothersome to break (typically it's about Silver and Good; you get Silver breaking at level 18 and then just need Holy or Pure Good wraps to break it).
You also get several useful strikes, stuff to turn monsters into Jade statues, dismiss outer planar creatures including elementals and the uber-stun Kukan Do.

UMD is nice to have, mainly for using Fire Shield scroll. Many people will tell you to dump Spot but it's useful to see hiding monsters instead of running past them and overpulling. I dont think you need to max it though.
Jump caps at 40 and at high level you can get a clicky that cast a +30 spell on you but having a high Jump is very nice during levelling up and when dispelled.

Skills are always a tough choice, if you could get your hands on a +1 tome you could start with 9 Int and use the tome at level 3 to gain 1 more point per level. Maybe with selling crafting ingredience you might afford it, but im not too sure since you're just starting out. Probably not.

IF I'm right, you can use a Lesser Heart thingy to respec your Skills/Feats/Ability etc and swap from Finesse/Dex to Str at level 20? If you don't TR?

First finesse really is only needed if you are going pure dex and ac build. It is not in my opinion a good way to go unless you are geared for it and ready to grind, grind, grind if you're not.
You do get one free feat exchange by talking to the lady in the harbor answering the questions then going to talk to fred in house j.
Would never make the finesse feat mistake again. Also note it only effects to hit. Damage is and always will be based on strength in a melee build.
