Napping sorc needs some ideas...

I quit DDO right around U9, and my character has sat idle since then. I came back recently and have found a lot of changes. Firewall nerfed, all sorts of new spells I don't even have an idea about, and most important the prestige line for sorcs.

So what I'm thinking, is I'd like to update my character to a useful status. And then reincarnate him. Useful because, I have 15 epic tokens and I need 5 more. Reincarnate him because he's a 28pt human, and to my eye I'd need to make 2 maybe 3 feat changes to get a Really Good(tm) sorcerer now.

What I've got:

28pt Human:
8 STR
10 DEX
16 CON
8 INT
8 WIS
18 CHA base + 2 tome + 5 level ups = 25

Feats:

I can make one free feat change due to the quest, and its clear I'd have to make one just to get the prestige. Making a second one probably isn't an option because of the intent to reincarnate and thus it would be a waste. A Blood of Dragons appeared in my inventory so I can make all sorts of spell changes as well.

Things I've been able to do before I quit: Solo Epic Wizking, Solo Epic Von1, all raids (as of U9) including epic dq2 and von6. I'd like to be able to do these again, but with the changes to firewall & epics, I'm not sure how to make that a reality.

I've looked for an in depth analysis of the new spells, and can't find one. All DDO information seems to be either on the forum or the wiki, and the first is a pain to find anything due to the multitude of false positives, and the latter isn't very in depth. Is there such a

How high is your UMD? can you get away with swapping the feat out? Get spell focus conjuration and take the new prestige enhancement. That will make your sorcerer "playable enough"

You can get a good luck +2 item from cannith crafting or on an epic with a blue slot.

Skill Focus: UMD is redundant. You should be able to achieve good enough UMD for 100% Resurrect Scrolls. It does require a bit of items, but even 80% is good in my book.

Also the Good Luck can be found on the ring in the Smuggler's Rest event, if they ever reopen it.

The sorcerer past life isnt that useful - you would spend less time startung a new wizard and TRing it then trwing to wizard and then coming back to sorcerer

Swapped in items, Greater Heroism, etc is 85% on a heal. However, that already includes good luck +2 in the form of the head of good fortune.

Would you have a suggestion on which prestige? I understand that fire is pretty sucky now. And spell lists?

It's level 20, but "as soon as possible" is "after getting 5 more tokens". Which, at a minimum, means being better than a piker in raids, and preferably if possible returning to the epics I used to solo.

First, I strongly doubt that levelling a new character (without any high level BtC items), then TRing that (apparently without spending time acquiring items) and then levelling again would be all that quicker than levelling just once with all the items I already have.

Second, I believe +1 evocation DCs would be quite useful....assuming DCs were high enough to be relevant in the first place (40ish)

It's VERY useful. I recommend doing 3x sorc for +3.

Ok let's see. First, drop UMD focus. Seriously. Grab SF:Evocation. That will let you get into Savant lvl 2 which gives you the Awaken Elemental Weakness (AEW): (insert element here). At this point you'll have 2 spelllike abilities to use and you can do +15% dmg on your chosen element.

Which element to choose? Easy, whatever your current gear favors the most, except fire. I'm rolling water and loving it. Air's pretty useful too.

As for spells, make sure you learn 2 level 5 spells: Niac's Biting Cold and Eladar's Electric Surge. Both are a damage over time (DOT) that stacks up to three times. Combined with your AEW you'll be doing massive dmg to bosses.
Other than that, start shifting around your spells to favor your element, and choosing as many ray based spells since they're hella cheap now. Also, Lightning Bolt has a 50% chance to strike twice now. Make sure to grab it if at all possible.

Consider the possibility of purchasing a Dragon's Blood (DDO STORE) to redo all your spells at once.

Do your epics and then TR.

Cold, Lightning and Acid savant are all ok and more or less in this order of efficacy at end game, even if it's a matter of taste and acid recently got a new tool in the form of black dragon bolt .

For what concern blood dragon to redo all your spell at once for one hour remember it drops decently in gianthold tor and velah chests.

If you make the tranasition to one prestige and swap spell accordingly and you can manage 300+hp i'm sure you'll find no particular problems to run, at least, the easier epics like House D and House P ones and Red Fens (with the exception of into the deep which is considerably harder than the other 3)
