Default Whats your goal in DDO?

Also, what keeps you playing DDO? I've seen some that keeps on TR-ing and going for being a completionist, while others wants to get the best gear ever. I don't know if there is anybody who wants to create all the different classes available and level them all up to 20 (one character per class). As for me, this is my goal in DDO: To be able to unlock the the unlockable features via the Favor points in each server, the Drow race, the Veteran status, the 32-point build and the Favored Soul Class. I've already done it in Ghallanda Server (more than 2500 favor points) and now I just reached the 1000 favor points in Sarlona.

How bout you? whats your goal in DDO?

Play the game with lots of people and have fun. Crafting lots of greensteel, rolling lots of lowbies and waiting for Kobold to be released as a playable race.

Once I have a Kobold completionist, I might quit. For a while.

I want a 36 point dps build with the best loot possible.

Then I'm going to stand in Korthos and ask all the new players why their toons are so short.

    Basically to have fun.

There is other stuff in there too, Like experiencing all the raids and content, making a bunch of friends, getting passable gear... make an un-gimped toon for once!

    I don't usually post, but...

I don't have a goal. I like exploring and marveling at the scenery. I enjoy solving the puzzles and figuring the battle tactics. (Yes, I'm naive enough to think that tactics can make the game fun) I like figuring out a great balance of gear, call it "shopping", if you will.

I enjoy chatting with my guild mates about things as varied as other games, great movies, the latest and greatest update or the best way to play a class.

Mostly I enjoy some fall-on-the-floor laughing moments in the game when it all goes to hell in a hand-basket.

Oh yeah, I must enjoy it, even when I suck at it. Been playing since '05, really heavy the last 18mos or so, and the highest level alt I have is 16. I got a rogue, a ranger, a monk, a wizard and play them as the mood takes me. If druid ever becomes reality, I'll be in heaven.

    Cheers.

To eventually cap one of every class...and I am far off from this goal do to my serious case of altitis and the inability to play any one character longer than a few days before switching to another alt.

I started DDO 3 months after it launched. It has been years of Fun, Drama, and Entertainment.
Goals change all the time for me.

At the moment, I am working on my Completionist.
When I start my next life very soon, I am still going to be doing that, but I am going to PuG the entire life.

My reason for going that? I don't need to PuG. Me and my husband have 2 manned elite runs on lots of lives so far with no problems. We want to help people There is so much ignorance on my server right now.
I guess it was always there, but I am just now seeing it everywhere. And I think it is sad.

We figure, If we start fresh off the boat pugging, we can correct some issues people may have or false knowledge people think they know to be true. If we can do that early on with people, we may not have soooooo many TR's that don't know F all about the game.

    Maybe it's a lost cause..
But I am willing to give it 20 levels.

at the moment. to make the best rogue orien has ever seen. ie: dps, versatility, party support, ability to do any rogue action at epic without fail. so far i believe i've actually reached that goal, but i still need to tr 1 more time to become orien's R.O.G.U.E. Lord of Shadows. it requires 3 rogue lives. after that I dont know.
What keeps me playing. 1- i'm a dnd fan. 2- the friends i've made here. 3- what else would a semi retired nerd be doing?
Krimsonrayne -Ultimate Lord of Shadows on Orien server.
Using -Ethan Hunt build -Assassin III, 900+ HP versatile, survivalist, high dps, str build.
Build presented in video format. Long Live R.O.G.U.E.

    Have fun.

Do every quest on elite. and every optional.

Prove that they can be done on any toon.

And do unto others as I would have them do unto me.

(I do have some lot grinding goals, but hate grinding to get them)
(and I do have one toon who I want Completionist on....but will probably take me years to get...)
I gave up a life of farming to become an Adventurer.

Since "Having fun" is so vague, I'll say what I find fun:

    1) Running content for the first time and figuring it out. I usually solo new adventures before running them with a group, so I can take my time-- I enjoy the story, I enjoy figuring out the puzzles, and I enjoy knowing how the quest works when I do run it with a group.

    2) Running difficult content with a group of great players. I love the challenge of forming and testing strategies to overcome a seemingly unbeatable boss. Some of the most fun I had in DDO was when the Tower of Despair first came out, and we hadn't yet figured out how to kite the shadow devils.

    3) Running a team of mixed skill through moderately challenging content. I don't mean blasting through it for them; I mean rallying the fools together and directing them so that they beat the quest, with my character as just another member of the team.

    To meet new people.
    To have fun.
To have fun with pre-ddo friends now on ddo.
To escape (sometimes RL isn't all that fun).
    To help newer players.

Same reasons people take up/enjoy hobbies. My only regret is that my son is 1 year old, so by the time he's into video games it's doubtful this will be going and/or I will be interested.

    (Wist--ful sigh...)
