Survey is exxelent, short and powerfull i provided some additional info aswell.

Turbine you should first implement an option in the UI options to change the old classic UI back, (orginal UI option)
then fix this new UI to go with the new designs.

    Default Simple UI Wins

    The deconstruction UI.

    1) Make it 4 items high, not 3 items high (I know this will afect everything using this UI). That way I will not have to scroll it for EVERY SINGLE ITEM DESTRUCTION. This is an action I perform thousands of times building my skill up.

    2) If I double click on an item in the list bait of the box do the relevant action instead of making me select it then hit the destruct button. I am constantly amazed that this does not happen. I have to select the large action in the list I want to perform then move the mouse over to a small button and click that. This is an action I perform thousands of times building my skill up

    3) Dropping items onto the Barter UI. If I drop an item ANYWHERE on the barter UI window add it into the box at the bottom. Requiring me to hit the small window is a PITA.

    Trading to another player.
If I drop an item onto the window, any part of the window, I want to trade it. Making me hit a small part it very annoying and irritating.

Speaking of crafting UI... didn't even think to mention that in the survey.

Shard construction... Filter on Prefix/Suffix. Filter by Item Location. HUGE.

    1. Lengthy surveys can be detrimental to getting feedback. Not everyone wants to read a 20 page novel's worth of questions and surveys that are too long tend to get bailed out on after page 2 (especially when no incentives other than "the warm squishy feelings that come with helping" are offered). We added the open ended comment box to capture any pressing concerns that didn't fit in the first pass (which I full expect to see).
The problem with this statement is that this usually applies to random samples. The people on the forums here are more than willing to give their opinions, and would definitely take the time to fill out a longer survey if they feel it will be the only way they are listened to. Besides, I've done political surveys before via the phone, and I've had 20 minute surveys (which mind you is much longer because we speak faster than we read). And sometimes, I've had 20 minute surveys go 30-40 minutes because the person on the line was older and needed things repeated. If they want to voice their opinion, they'll be patient. 6 questions is an insult to our eagerness to give you our feedback and makes us feel as though the survey is to placate the anger without solving the problem.

    Well said!

    ...an afterthought to add:

Seems a lot of UI windows (like crafting) are designed with wide-screen monitors in mind. Is a real pain having overlapping windows we can't resize on standard monitors.

Unfortunatly i do agree on this point. There were huge complaints prior to the lauch of U11 that showed players (for the most part) hated the UI changes and even asking that this not put in for various reason but it happend anyway. The devs definatly dropped the ball on this one big time but lets hope they can recover and still get the score

This space intentionally left mostly blank.

Aw, wish I'd thought to say something about that in my comments. I'm on a laptop and it's a pain if I want to have open say the deconstruction window, my inventory to pull things from, and an ingredient bag. Forget about keeping my character sheet up so I can see my leveling progress.

lol they ask for our input and say they are listening to forum posts and also that if necessary there will be more surveys, and people are STILL determined to be insulted? Okay then.

It takes less space horizontally but not vertically, it all depends on your screen size and getting a new one isn't a good solution for everyone.
For raids it depends on your targetting style, plenty of us are visual and got royally interfered by not being able to see hp bar decrease at a glance.
As mentioned elsewhere makes known good healers look noob, back to square one. A smaller bar is not better for this.
And the old set of bars was movable, not sure but i recall having moved mine after moving up the map a bit. The draggable edge was off side but was there.

Question regarding focus orb is a compound question... bad survey methodology, guys. Informational fallacy.

Fielding a survey is a tried and true technique to slow things down and backpedal taking action on problems. I learned this in management courses over the years.

The survey allows Turbine to look like they're doing something while giving them the time to slow roll the issue until the next one comes along.

Almost a guarantee that they will ignore the large body of threads and feedback they've already gotten.

Survey done. I made ample use of the fill in box at the end. Glad the devs are listening.
