Default Bodyfeeder and Staggering Blow on a shield?

Cannith crafting[1] allows to put onto shield some functions which normally go onto off-hand weapon. With functions like Enchantment Focus or Songblade that makes sense (and is very welcome!), as they do not depend on actually striking an enemy. But how does something like Bodyfeeder on a shield work? Do you get temporary hit points when shield-bashing, or when using your regular weapon? If the former, it is pretty much useless. If the latter, far from it.

FYI, I am trying to decide what suffix to put on a Lifeshield shield for my Bard 14. He's been using Battered Guardian Shield (Lifeshield, Fear Immunity, +2 Resistances) for a long time, but has outgrown latter two functions.

[1] Shouldn't we call it "Kundarak crafting" now?

Almost any effect you can put on a weapon you can put on a shield, including dozens of effects that depend on hitting. And hitting with a shield = shieldbashing.

There are a select few effects that apply to all hits no matter where you slot them, such as Seeker and Stunning, but you probably knew about those.

Actually, I did not know that.

I thought that Seeker on trinket or hat or goggles applies to all weapons, but Seeker on a weapon applies just to that weapon. Are you saying that if I use Seeker dagger in my off-hand, my main hand weapon ALSO gets Seeker effects? And if I put Seeker on shield??

If yes, then it is incredibly useful. Can anyone else confirm it?

    Absolutely,

sneak attack bonuses, seeker, stunning, vertigo, and many other effects that enhance abilities do not matter what slot you put them in.
