    Wink Server Problems! >.<

I have noticed that there has been a difficult time finding players at all times of the day. Its almost a requirement to play during peak hours or its almost impossible to find a party. Which is why I have come up with a unique idea.

If we made 8 servers. Why 8? I am going to explain that in a moment if you keep reading. The first 4 would be meant for characters choosing to be level 1-20, it would really cut down the server issues, while still maintaining a high server count for all servers instead of the many we have currenty.

Now what are the other 4 you ask? Well, the first two would be set to level cap 10. Why level cap 10? Because everyone whose been playing since launch (whose not lying! You know who you are!) loved doing stuff at level 10. VoN used to be an incredibly challenging Raid. Now its - Hey let me go get my level 20... Bam Raid's done.

The last two Servers will be level cap 16. I remember watching a friend of mine play their Barbarian during a Shroud run once, level cap 16. He had just gotten his Supreme Tyrant Mineral II Great Axe, and he was insanely happy about it.

Now I never really cared for Shroud when it first came out. I thought it would destroy DDO, but truth be told I now have over 12 Supreme Tyrant items, and usually run shroud on a regular basis if I can.

In closing, I think it would be awesome to have the old world of DDO back. I mean I am sure some people will agree with me that DDO has changed. (And not really for the best in some ways) I love DDO, but I hate the way the people of the game act now. It would surely be nice to get away and enjoy the older stuff without 'gimping' or 'limiting' myself in any way. Which surely would happen if I refused to level past 10 or 16 with how DDO works now.

So, you want DDO to be even more buggy then it already is?

    /no

If you can't find a party do it yourself (go solo) or shortman it

Another option is to get some of your real life friends to play.

You're having issues finding groups during certain play times and your answer is to spread the people even thinner?

Creating level-cap servers would be unlikely to recapture the "Glory Days" feeling you seem to have for years gone by. Myself, I'd find level-capped servers to be a huge annoyance, and would give them a wide berth. As would a lot of the people I know from the aforementioned Glory Days of DDO (I myself do not wax nostalgic for the lvl 10 cap, nor the one at 12, or 16). And for certain any new player wouldn't want to play there.

Really not a good idea at all.

Why don't you just set a level range for your group for the quest you want to run? *confused*

I'm sorry, I fail to see how level-capped servers would change people's playtime and affect how hard it is to find a group.

Are you aware that you can select a level range for your party? Generally this causes people outside that level range to not try to join.

Also, did you know that you do not *have* to hit the level trainer just because you leveled? You're completely free to never level past 10 (or 2 or 8 or 16 or 19...) if you don't want to.

I could a make a completionist in no time if I only had to go to lvl 10. Then I could move it to a lvl 20 server. DEAL!!!

Really.... spreading thinner? By cutting the servers in half. Are you that daft?

First of all, that wasn't the point of this thread. If you're just here to complain instead of actually insightfully understand than just leave. The server idea was just thrown out there because maybe there are people with different view points than you.

DDO is turning quickly into a huge disaster zone, and little can be done to fix it. By complaining about it and bringing others down is not going to fix the problem. I was just offering ideas to maybe let other people... you know the ones who aren't you to be able to do other things.

Well, see if there was a level 10 server it wouldn't have as many feats, completionist came out after the level cap hit 20... so my point remains. Forget it I suppose everyone just wants to think their own way.

I don't see the need for servers based upon levels 1-10, 1-16. That's a waste in my opinion.

Not all servers have an "issue". There are many alternative solutions to finding groups other then clicking the grouping window and saying "****...nothing there". Effort goes a long way in eliminating the perception of problems.

Why? Normal + Dungeon Scaling ( + hireling just in case) and you are ready to go in quest. Put a LFM for the quest/chain you are doing with "in progress" in it and if someone wanna join, have some fun

The problems this could cause on the development side, the QA side, and potentially the cost probably far outweighs any gain Turbine might get from this. Nostalgia doesn't outweigh a bad business choice. (I'm no developer, but wouldn't something like this mean you need 3 different versions of the code?)

Nice as it might be for a laugh or a quick dose of nostalgia, I wouldn't want to play on it. It just doesn't have the appeal of the normal server. Set up an LFM or find like-minded players, and I think you may be just as happy. (You may also consider capping yourself, like leveling to 16 but then not spending any more EXP?)

    My two cents.

I actually thought what it would be like if you limited yourself to level 10 (along with other like-minded people). That would actually make lots of now obsolete low level gear useful or at least almost useful. Raidwise you would be limited to VoN and Titan, so items from those raids would again become very much wanted. DQ would probably be also doable, but the loot would be too high level.

Issues finding a grp? What server do you play on anyway?
