I was thinking of 10% ranged alacrity, but I can't verify that it will work with crossbows.

I only have upgraded the lowest one so far and added superior reconstruct III.
I also like potency or higher levels of reconstruct.
for a suffix I like Sneak Attack (which I think can be added).

Since I am Warforged, I slot the appropriate Superior Reconstruction.
I was gonna do ranged alacrity too and probably greater evocation focus as a prefix. Help my spells and my pew pew. I would like to know if any focus will help out the dc of the rune arm. That might change my mind.

Haven't gotten my artificer to high enough levels. Only rune arms I have are crafting +2 and +3. The +2 has +1 already on it, so not much room to add anything. The +3 has +3 on it already so no room to add anything.
All the rune arms indicate the crafting + cannot be increased. Sort of makes it pointless since crafting something onto any of them will raise the min level and I'll likely have new rune arms by then in any case.
Would have been better if we'd been able to craft the rune arms to match our own unique take on things. That way we could have crafted one from scratch at L2 and grown it as the character developed.
For a class called "Artificer" that would have made too much sense.
Then the "named" rune arms could have been made a bit more uncommon and a bit more powerful with prefixes and suffixes already built in....
But, as with everything about DDO, Turbine knew what we wanted better than we knew ourselves....
Which explains why we got Artificer to begin with and still don't have Druid.![]()
Thats the problem with crafting. It causes the end item to be way higher minimum level than regular generated loot.
I'd suggest making each increase only +1 instead of +2. Or making the + 1/2/3/4/5 Enhancement only increase by it's amount.
For INstance: I created a +3 Holy Heavy Repeating Xbow of Pure Good and cannot use it until level 13. When it should really be min lvl 10.
I know about the Master Craftiing item. More grind (IMO).
I added ranged alacrity on my low level rune arms (it's a +2 modifier so you can use it on Flame warden, etc. by level 5 or level 3 w/ mark of cannith).

I added blindness immunity to Thought Spike which made it a min level 5 item. I'm only level 3 atm, so I had to go get another thought spike. I'm still trying to get a handle on this, so I'm going to be careful about trying to always keep a rune arm that's not too high level for me to use yet. I also like the idea of adding sneak attack as a suffix.

Without a Rune Torso, and Rune Head they are only moderately useful, but eventually I'll have a Rune Robot who just runs quests for me. I call it "Warforged Sorcerer".

Since you cannot undo it... be careful.
I suggest having a second runearm before experimenting with the first.
Experiment with the weaker one... always keep your current best one untouched.
Because you do not want to have al of your runarms suddenely to high a min lvl for you to use.
I added +1 Attack Bonus to the one from Korthos. Seemed to use up all the +s and shot the min lvl up to 5.
I added Persuasion to the one from STK. Also seemed to use up all of its +s and increased min lvl to 5.
Some others I thought would be nice were Repair Lore, and Evocation Focus.
Considered Parrying, but decided that AC isn't a worthwhile investment.
Added persuasion to my thought spike (mostly for the +3 UMD)
would seeker work? seems like that may be a decent bonus to a rune arm if it works
I added another heavy repeating xbow and a halfling thrower + flamethrower....kids love that stuff.
Especially the flamethrower + halfling thrower combo does wonders against epic Velah. You poison unsuspecting halfling, attach it to the thrower, use flamethrower to make it all nice and crispy and right when Velah opens her mouth pop it right in there.
Shard of battleskill the highest tier I can get in reality.
