    Lightbulb Brew potion/scribe scroll/craft wand?

I was thinking, now that we have Crafting to make our own equipment, it would be great to have the ability to create cure pots/wands etc.

Wizards get bonus Metamagic feats for free as part of their build, perhaps Clerics could get bonus Magical Crafting feats for free, too? The ability to Brew Potions, Scribe Scrolls and Craft Wands.

They could take one of each feat at levels 5, 10 and 15.

They'd be limited to creating pots/scrolls/wands that already exist in the game, naturally, and could only create items with spells they're high enough to cast on their own.

So you'd never be able to have a Cleric 5/Barbarian 15 making their own Heal Scrolls, for instance. As they'd only have up to level 3 spells available.

To prevent imbalance from scribing scrolls of Blade Barrier, perhaps the ability to craft should only apply to cures/buffs?

Wizards could also take the feats as part of their bonus selection, so they could create potions of Haste or Heroism, etc. (but not scrolls of Firewall/Dimension Door, of course, as they're not buffs).

    No thanks.

I love the idea of people making their own pots, scrolls and wands...but I could never get behind it being 100% exclusive to a caster. I doubt anyone will support that either; if people had a problem with an artificer with gimp feats getting a mere 20 level BONUS to normal crafitng, they will riot in the streets over making Potions/wands/scrolls being a caster exclusive thing.

At the moment, only a fool would dedicate a character slot solely to crafting unless they are turning an impossible profit...if your idea came to pass, a gimp max crafter would actually be a semi-good idea to put all of the uselessness in one character slot.
