Default Major mana pots and large devil scales

If people are actually trading 100 pots for 2 lds they are nuts, I'll trade all my lds away at that ratio. LDS go for 400k or so on the ah. Pots sell for at least 20k right now so 100 pots is roughly 2 mil plat (1.5 mil on the low end). 2 scales at most is 800k and probably closer to 700k. Are people actually dumb enough to make this trade?

The only problem I see, is that in my experience, it's taken me months to build up to approx 120 major pots. I can get 2 scales in just a few shroud runs.

10 scales for 100 pots seems more realistic in my opinion.

I'll come clean on this one. I actually completed a trade earlier today. I traded 100 major pots for 2 large devil scales. Did I need them? No. I have on the order of 30 LDS in the bank. I did it 1) Because someone else needed my major pots and 2) Because I don't think it's that big of a deal.

At 400K for a LDS, that's 800K plat for 100 pots. Works out to 8,000 plat per pot. Consider that the only way I obtain majors is: 1) If they're on the AH for 7,000 plat per pot or less or 2) I pick them out of chests, how am I losing?

Yes, they take awhile to accumulate, but I have several hundred of them. I don't always know current market prices, but I don't believe in soaking people on trades.

I think it's pretty close to fair value. Maybe 3 scales instead of 2, but close enough.

    Perhaps I'm a softie...

Dont sell them then. I posted a trade, now you have actually 2 options:

    1) Trade
    2) Don't trade

I saw someone have done it already (see dranred above), why shouldnt someone else do it with me?

Also, they are worth 20k for you, for others they are worth 10k ea.

My post was not intended to insult anyone, if you can find someone to sell you 100 pots for 2 lds then thats great, free market. Apologies if it sounded like I was calling anyone out for doing it.

Major pots can be bought in the store, LDS can not. That shifts the balance a bit. Personally I think people buying pots in the AH at that price are fools.

I have 100 pots available to the first person who would like to trade me 10 LDS for them. I'll even do it for 8!

    *sigh*
there are only 2 things a good player will do with pots:
if he has a caster he will save them and use them when needed, instead of crying "sry no mana left"
if he doesnt have a caster, and only melee, he will save them and give to healers in his party when they have to burn any to heal his butt

selling pots = greedy and selfish

There are only 2 situation a good player/team will need pots:
if they are exploring a new quest/raid and close to finish when cleric/caster oom
if they are trying to do short man quest/raid

However, there are 1000s situation a good player can do with scales:
if he has new casual friends playing ddo, he can help them to build up gs item more quickly
if he is in a tod and someone looted a +4 tome and selling it for scales

So giving out pots are good but trading them for lds and giving out are bad????
