So here's a newbie question: There's a pair of epic goggles that give +2 enchantment and +2 necromancy as well as colorless slot --spectacles of spirit sight -- (http://ddowiki.com/page/Epic_Spectacles_of_Spirit_Sight)
Isn't it better to use the goggles slot for that, rather than green steel?

This may not be what other people like, but to me... green steel is for leveling. 11-18. Look at your gear for those levels when deciding what to build.

Not because green steel isn't useful at level 20 because it certainly is, but if you actually do epics and get a lot of level 18-20 gear, you probably will use the epic gear in place of green steel items.

But you cannot beat green steel at level 11/12 up to 20; it makes TRing a heck of a lot of fun. So when I plan out items, I look at what I'm wearing mid levels, not end game.

Yeah I like the triple earth for the bonus to concentration when leveling and when I forget/too lazy to use quicken, the clickie is awesome to level with as well, and the on receiving attack feature is more useful then I thought it would be since it procs often from what I see when I do manage to get hit

Depends partly on what type of wizard you are (and what gears important to you i guess). I did Goggles/gloves. Would not do boots as you are pretty much required to swap them out in some cases (tod), so other options would be helm, belt, cloak, bracers, and gloves.

The only other helmet worth considering for a wizard is a minos - if you dont have other places to get toughness and heavy fort (possibly in an epic abishai set) stick with the minos. Also Edit: abishai helm can fit here too :P if you really want the set.

Bracers, if your a PM you want demons consort, otherwise I think the only other good one is bracers of the glacier - if your an AM and dont care about cold shield guard and the other stuff they offer, bracers may be for you. Edit: forgot, charged gauntlets here too for abishai.

For cloaks, I think there are plenty of decent options - epic envenomed, epic mirror for pms - that you probably dont want to slot it here. If you dont care about the mirror cloak and wouldnt use the abishai set/7con would leave you at an odd number, could work.

Belt - I would say you do not want it on a belt, there are simply too many good belts for a wizard. 6 con gfl amrath belts, (epic) lion headed (mainly for the shaken debuff), AM set for swap in if you want the .5 crit multiplier for bosses.

Gloves are my preferred second slot for a wiz. Epic ring of the mire is generally better than bramble casters, epic charged gauntlets are only worth considering to complete an abishai set. Not really much else worthwhile here.

conc opp will always be end game on a caster

Goggles and gloves are GS slots.

For helm, a well made cove hat is golden.

demons consort... not me, chance for neg levels and random curses no thank you.

lion headed belt buckle .. better for a melee i would think, except ToD set belts trump it, shaken? meh GH takes care of that.

Not sure why your comparing a ring of mire to bramble casters as they do different things and are different slots entirely.

Where do folks adivse to slot the HP item?

I'm a bit lost on gearing a wizard. I've got my Ench DC's up to 38, and plugging along, but really not a lot of idea what to aim for for end game.

    What I'm doing now:

Chest: DT armor, hoping for epic diabolist's. If you're a PM, you probably want one of the two robes with Boon of Undeath (Abbot raid or Mabar event)
Helm: minos, eventually can be replaced. Aiming Chromo epic helm?
Bracer: Necro DC bracers right now, aiming Epic Chrono?
    Goggles: GS conc opp
Cloak: Resistance cloak, aiming for Chrono Epic cloak? Good item as it gives you +7 Con, +5 resist and a green slot for something like Heavy Fort, Toughness or Good Luck
    Boots: swap slot
Necklace: aiming for Torc (epified) Making this epic isn't currently very important; the boost to the Spell Pen is nice, but not a necessity, and the colorless slot is almost worthless for a caster.
Trinket: Crystal cove, for the excp int+2 Better to get a ToD ring with +1 Int on it and slot +2 Int on top. There are better trinkets out there, the top being Litany of the Dead for its ability to bump you both another Int bracket and a Con.
Gloves: Bramble casters? Dunno, using for STR right now.
Ring 1: GFL right now, aim for?
Ring 2: int+6 and guild slot right now, aim for? Any of the +1 Int ToD rings
    Belt: +6 con, aim for?

Looking for guides on it and not finding a ton... where are folks slotting that second Greensteel typically?
Gloves are a good place for a greensteel item as the only real competition there is the Gloves of the Glacier, which, while nice, aren't must haves. I think the helm slot is also reasonable, but there is more competition there. Personally, I don't see the allure of the Abishai set on a Pale Master. 3 piece maybe for nuking, but adding in the other 2 just feels like a waste for +3 on Web.

As for stuff to aim for consider some of what I have down here: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=288506

By the way, Heavy Fort is still important for a Pale Master as it stacks with your undead fortification and can allow you to use Yugoloth favor potions at no penalty (the Int potion gives +2 Int, regens 1 SP every 6 seconds or so, and causes a -50% Fort penalty), since you can get up to 200% as a PM.

    after goggles i went bracer.

sceptor is a good spot if you dont have to have it equipped all the time. its not like those spots are tied up for melee or anything.

    Just my two cents:

    My set-up before I recently TR'd

Helm: GS, min2, +45 hp, hvy fort
    Neck: Torc
    Trinket: Eardweller (Litany hopefully)
Cloak: Reavers Napkin (Epic Phiarlan Mirror Cloak planned)
Belt: Swap between PM and AM Tod set
Ring: Swap between PM and AM Tod set
Ring: Epic ring of the Mire
Gloves: Glacier (yeah I know but fewer points in the meta I run with alot saves SP)
Boots: Hot swap. FF, Firestorm Greeves, etc
Bracers: Epic Kunarak. +6 con, +5 resist, GFL Slotted
Chest: Epic Diabolist Robe +6 str slotted, Toughness slotted
    Goggles: Con Op, SP
    Git off mah lawn!

Doesn't affect a Pale Master, at least not the neg levels, and who cares about curses on a caster that is healing with negative energy?

The belt causes the shaken condition as a guard effect on enemies. Essentially, let some stuff hit you for a proxy +2 to your spell DCs.
Not sure why your comparing a ring of mire to bramble casters as they do different things and are different slots entirely.
They both have Greater Spearblock, which is verygood. The guard effect is unimpressive for a caster, even one looking to get hit a fair amount--the point was that Greater Spearblock on a ring is better than the same on gloves.

spearblock is meh imho when you can just use stoneskin or DoD when damage is really coming in, high DR can be counterproductive ive found in anything but the hardest content as 0's dont proc mana

That can be a viable option if running Abbot is not something you see yourself doing. Personally I would run Abbot for the Staff and save the goggle slot. But individual taste as well as comfortability in getting raid completions in a more difficult raid come into place.

Again, personally I recommend against the epic spirit sight goggles. The base item is fantasic leveling up, but for an end game set up I don't feel they are worth the slot as you can get the staff and keep the slot for GS.

Race comes into play here. A fleshy PM is not likely to carry around Stoneskin nor a DoD. Not that either is a wrong answer but the devil in the details.

I did boots for mine. losing the hp in 1 part of 1 raid wasn't a big deal for me, and i use the regalia for my featherfall swap item.
