    Default Paladin Help

    Hello,
I was planning on making a Paladin build but unfortunately i know very little about them. I am looking for it to be able to be self sufficient, and easy to solo with. I want a TWF paladin/Rogue Khopesh build. Here is what i think would be decent:

    STR: 16
    Dex: 14
    Con: 14
    Int:10
    Wis: 10
    Cha: 14

    Possible feat selections

TWF, ITWF, GTWF, Power Attack, Improved critical slashing, Khopesh, Toughness, Extend, Empower healing,

    Race

Human for healing amp extra feat extra skill points

Not sure which prestige enhancement line to pick up yet.

Any good? Thanks in advance! =)

I know very little about paladins, but I do know that you don't need int(especially as a human) or wisdom. You also need at least 15 dex to go twfing unless you want to use a stat gain point(level 4, 8, 12, 16, 20) to gain 17 dex.

gonna use a +1 tome as soon as i get off the boat , putting me at 15, then gonna use stat bonus as you said, and later on using a +2 tome to get there. using int for the UMD stat boost, and using wis so i can cast a little.

You'd be better off dumping Int and Wis, and going with 16/15/14/8/8/15 starting stat spread. Use at least a +2 dex and charisma tome, and then put that last stat bump that you were going to use for dex into charisma instead to unlock Divine Might 3.

Paladins can cast all of their spells with a 14 wisdom, and you'll get that with just a +6 item. Definitely no need to put any points there, and IMO points into int on a melee human build is just not worth it.

Although its a 36 pt build you might find this thread to be a good reference.

Also here is a copy paste of another TWF evasion pally that uses khopeshs - You can read the whole thread here. The copy paste comes from post #7 about halfway through.

    IX. Sample Human TWF/Evasion

Lawful Good Human Paladin 18 / rogue 2 (rogue levels at 1 and 10)

    Str: 16 + 5 level ups (6 item, 1 human enh, 3 exceptional, 2 tome = 33, 34 with +3 tome)
Dex: 15 + 2 tome (qualifies for twf .. if +1 tome only, reverse str/dex)
Con: 12 (20 with tome and item)
    Int: 8 (2 skill points)
Wis: 8 (16 with tome and item)
Cha: 16 + 2 tome (qualifies for DM3: 26 charisma with assorted gear)

Note: to do this w/o 32 point builds, go 15 16 12 8 8 16 drow, and drop Khopesh from the feat list.

    1: Toughness
    1: Two-Weapon Fighting
    3: Exotic Prof: Khopesh
    6: Extend Spell
    9: Improved TWF
    12: Improved critical: slash
    15: Greater TWF
    18: Power Attack

Level 1 rogue: 4 ranks in balance, use magic device, tumble, jump, intimidate, pick lock, Haggle, 2 other skills of your choice
Paladin levels: 2 points in UMD
Rogue 10: 4 pick lock, 3 wherever you like

Knight of the Chalice 1-3 (8 ap)
    Courage of Good 1-2 (3 ap, pre-req)
Energy of the Templar 1-2 (3 ap, pre-req)
    Divine Sacrifice 1-2 (3 ap)
    Divine Might 1-3 (6 ap)
Extra Lay on Hands 1-3 (6 ap)
    Extra Smiting 1-4 (10 ap, pre-req)
    Exalted Smiting 1-4 (10 ap)
    Racial Toughness 1-2 (3 AP)
    Paladin Toughness 1-3 (6 ap)
Follower of the Sovereign Host (2 ap, pre-req)
    Unyielding Sovereignty (4 ap, pre-req)
    Human adaptability: Strength (2 ap)
Human improved recovery 1-2 (6 ap)
paladin charisma 1 (if needed to be even, 2 ap)
Rogue Sneak Attack Training 1 (1 ap)
Rogue Haste Boost 1 (1 ap)
Paladin resistance of good 1 (1 ap)

    Hope this helped

Big fan of the paladins. I rolled my Drow pali up and by accident he did not suck at all. Capped and TR'd him and is currently at lvl 12 second life and he is one of my favorite toons to run. I went THF with falchions for the smite crits and sometimes see some serious numbers. I wish I would have looked at Junts guide for the first life, but you live and you learn.

Here is a link to Junts guide to paladins, which I think is a must read for anyone who wants to run a paladin.

Pali's rock, have fun with yours.

would swap two weapon fighting with powerattack and skip extend and put two weaon fighting instead
    of it.

at low lvl and 28 point build chances are your to hit will suck anyways twf wont help much with that
nor will power attack but at least when you hit you will hit hard. To hit will get better once you are around
lvl 6 or so. +4 weapons and 6 bab and a healthy str mod will help a lot with it.

empower healing is ab ad feat for a pallie

also consider going defender of siberies.. knight of the chalice aint all that anymore.. and hunter of the dead
was never that to begin with..

You could swap PA with a couple of other feats if you wanted to, but the lower levels are where the -5 to hit can actually make a difference especially while waiting for all the boni from the TWF chain to blossum. Plus the lower level mobs all die pretty quick and the ones that don't are in the vale and your extra KotC damage plus holy sword spell will make up for it.

Although if you feel comfortable swaping some things around, you probably should. I feel that builds always work better when tailored to the playstyle of the individual.

Personally, I would say forget empower healing. If you want to heal yourself, use heal scrolls. Even you said it yourself, you want UMD to be able solo. If that is the case, I would take the +3 UMD feat.
