Temporary fix.

Create a new chat window "default 1".

uncheck all incoming text.

Put it behind the party bars to darken the background.

Move the party bar about a centimeter off an edge of the chat window. If u click on the chat window by accident and it goes on top of the bars you can still click on the party bars hanging outside the chat box to put it back on top.

I like the add on skins. They are darker. Blackbird or Rival11 are really dark, but I am getting by with DDOlite skin.

I really dislike the new UI as well. I've been too busy playing with my new artificer to try running my cleric through anything, but I can feel y'alls pain. Like an earlier poster suggested, everyone who is having problems with the UI might want to take this opportunity to try out a custom UI skin. I usually run with Blackbird, but Cosmos is nice for a healer. The HP bar is set up so you can calculate what percent a person is down.

Also you go under options and turn off the big ugly portrait bar, fix the size of your personal floaty hp/sp bar, and re-enable your party hp/sp bar.
