Default Having trouble with feats/order on a WF Sorc

Looking to go Earth Savant as a WF. Goal will be to solo/short-man but still contribute in groups some.

    1. Toughness
    3. Empower (should max be first on a Sorc?)
    6. Maximize
    9. SF: Conjuration
    12. Heighten
    15: Quicken
    18: SF: Evo? GSF: Conjuration?

I'm not sure of the order nor of the Spell focus feats. Most of the acid stuff is Conjuration, which is why I am thinking of that for level 9. I will probably minor in cold though...so SF:Evo seems nice as well. On the other hand, there are a couple of cold spells with no save so maybe GSF:Conjuration is better for my purposes. I am hoping to really lean on the SLAs so I want them to be the best they can be.

    Thoughts?

I see no issue with your feat order. Looks like exactly what I did on my Sorc life.

I'd swap Toughness and Spell Focus, early on regardless of savant type Niacs will be your best damage dealer, so you'll want as much DC on that as you can get. Also until 9th level when you can tack on a few racial toughness levels the benefit of the toughness feat is minimal IMHO.

I wouldnt bother with Quicken; yes uninteruptible reconstructs are great, but speaking as a capped WF Sorc, you don't need it. Yes there have been a handful of situations where having it prolly would have saved me a death or two, but those situations have been few and far between. You cast everything fast enough as it is; I'd rather spend the slot on Greater Spell Focus or Spell Penetration, but its your toon, either way is valid.

My feat selection went like this (i went fire and respecced to ice at endgame, with a short stint as earth)
1: SF Conjuration (swapped out to SF Evocation at 6th)
    3: Empower
    6: Maximize
    9: Toughness
    12: Heighten
    15: GSF Evocation
    18: Spell Penetration

edit: also I'd stick with taking empower before maximize; as far as damage boost vs mana cost its more efficient; until you get SLAs you'll burn through mana too fast with max at those early levels.

    My say on your feats:

    Take instead...
    1. Toughness
    3. SF
    6. Empower
    9. Maximize
    12. Heighten
    15. GSF
    18. Spell Pen

*Could swap out toughness for extend/GSP once you've built up your gear

    Rationale:
    1. Take toughness early since you intend to be self-sufficient. Swap this out later.
    2. Don't take empower and maximize too early. Try doing the maths and you will see that using these feats too early isn't SP-efficient. It's better if you just recast (you're a sorc anyway, your spells cool down pretty quick) There are few bosses you need to dump damage on at these levels; not having damage metamags shouldn't be a big problem.
    3. Take heighten around the levels where you think you need to CC stuff. This may be around 12th or 15th level, depending on your playstyle.
    4. Spell pen is a necessity if you intend to take on wizzy jobs on epics. Since your ench/transmute/conj spell DCs won't be great, spell penetration spells such as power words and Otto's irresistible dance will be your better weapons.
    4. Swap out toughness for extend/GSP once you get your HP gear. Extend would be for convenience, while GSP would be for if you find that your spell pen still isn't enough (I prefer extend personally).

Lots of luck, and wish you have fun.
