Default Possible to make a pajama wearing DOS pally tank?

I was just wondering if it would be possible to make a 18 paladin DOS 2 monk tank? Or would it be even worth it? With the new stances coming out and all? A 2wf tank?

Pajama's because I like evasion and thats how one of my toons is geared out, same with 2wf as well. Have a torc so can regen sp and maybe self heal with a meta magic maybe maximize. Be nice to have enough AC to Tank suulo or maybe even Horoth, but im thinking the hp wont be enough for horo?

Stance3 gives you +6Con AND +20% HP. Its crazy.

Anyway, there's not really anything in the stances that requires you to be armored, (although they do give threat bonuses for using a shield) assuming you take CE as the prereq feat, which you probably should anyway.

No idea on the AC gearing but I'd assume its possible.

I've recently seen a bunch of 1ftr/7mnk/12DoS Tanks, nice thing in chrono, saves are through the roof. NIce if you can get hp and ac up for stuff like elite ToD and/or the new stuff, but should be possible on a monk splash twf build. With the new fortification stuff, handwraps may be an option for you too.

2 Monk also gives you access to two more Toughness feats, so the HP don't have to be terrible.

Great saves, fair HP, good AC - the only question is whether the AC is good "enough".

i havent read this thread at all but if your after AC then yes the ONLY option is wearing pajamas. AC in DDO is @$%^ the only way to get AC that is viable at end game (which will still be questionable) thanks to turbine is by wearing absolutely nothing. BECAUSE WE ALL KNOW that someone wearing a skirt is OBVIOUSLY more protected then someone wearing a full suit of full plate armor with a tower shield, this makes sense to me but then again obviously im AN IDIOT.

    Absolutely possible.
I'm in the process of leveling one right now (TR'd).
Of course I don't personally have all the gear (yet!), but planning on having low to mid 800s HP stanced, and 97 AC without rediculous stuff like store pot, halfling hero, completionist, boosts, and house D alchemical pots. Quite realistic for powergamers with 80 or 90 or whatever strength barbarians to get all this stuff.

EDIT: Not human/helf like most people seem to think is best. Drow. Only way (literally) to get the stats I have on any point build, and best race to fit in all the AP (human/helf amp, stats, versatility (dmg boost), helf dilly don't at all fit with what I have planned). Drow probably isn't the best race for the job, but everything sure fell into place easily for AP and stats instead of having to decide what's best. I don't like having to way very good benefits that I want against each other, in this case offensive paladin stuff (smites, sacrifice, DM) versus defensive (DoS prereq's, toughness, LoH, aggro magnetizing, etc).

Honestly, AC from Plate can be just as high as a pajama wearing paladin, now swapping 2 levels for monk is very doable, and no you don't need to be in pajama's to make evasion work, just light armor... Epic Tier 3 Pirate Cove armor = best armor for this sort of build.. Armored 8, MDB 12, +4 Dodge AC... pretty much like wearing Icy Raiments, only a heck of a lot better )

Fighter or Pally with Monk splash will work easily if you build for ac.

    http://my.ddo.com/character/khyber/splatsplat/

Tanked Horoth on Hard last night and have done Elite after losing ship buffs pre U11.

750+hp while tanking Horoth...LoH is great when heals lag or the healer/s are distracted by real life

Threat is a total non issue now, the only person I need to worry about is another ac hate build trying to rip agro.
I need 10 seconds or less head start with no threat gear, just DR and stance. It's awesome.

One in my sig, specifically intended to take advantage of the torc.
The self healing with human amp is huge, and 800 hp with high ac and great saves means there's very little that can kill it in a hurry.

Of course, on the other hand, it's a dos paladin - practically the definition of giving up all offense in favor of defense.

very nice I see you got the full abishai set?

I have the boots, gauntlets and bracers. I have everything to make another whole set. Thing is when tanking horoth you cant really wear the boots so benifit from the abishai +3 con set.

What is your self buffed ac not counting stuff like sheild wands, short term buffs?

I have a plan for a sustainable 100 AC halfling DoS, yes it's doable.

problem wit hthe build, imo, is the stat spread.

You'll need STR for your damage and to hit
Dex at least 15 for your TWF and ac and reflex
cha for your loh, smite to hit, saves and divine might
    wisdom for AC
at least 11 starting int for CE
and obviously dumping con is not an option.

It'll be pretty dang hard to get all of those stats to a reasonable level.

Basically, imo, its not possible to do without 36 point build and even then.... iffy.

I can't remember lol, self buff with yugo pots and ship buff and shield wand to 82 i think.

Just tanked (kinda..lol) LoB normal at 92ac and it was fine until I died and it gets very hectic fast. Fun raid but brutal even on normal. First time ever in the new raids for me and a lot of the ppl.

I posted the build but no one really commented or whatever so I didn't bother updating it.

It's all possible at 32pt, but going 34, 36pt means you can add some dps with more str, and +4 int/dex/cha tomes help you put more puts into wis/dex etc.

Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, you know how ac works. DoS vs SD? DoS is fun to solo/shortman with, SD is pretty solid when you got other people covering you.

4 stat points would represent +1 hit/dam, +20 hp, or +2 ac. Not a dealbreaker by any means.

oh im seriously thinking of doing it, it will be 34 or 36 point, the thing that has me sold on DOS is the self healing and solo ability, plus i would like to experiance playing a paladin.

Now as for race, i dont have helf, human definately seems the best option, will i have enough AP for all the paladin stuff I need and Human damage boost? Human healing amp also looks solid.

I would really like to try out drow, but not too sure how the stats would go and the human AP looks to add more, healing amp and damage boost. Toons got gs rapiers though +2 to hit and damage with rapiers might not be so bad? save me crafting new green steel khopeshes?

I also have 2 +3 int tomes on a toon I have no intentions of ever tring into a wizard, so I can keep starting int at 10.

    if drow

    15

Human will definitely be better for solo IMO, as you have the healing amp and extra skill point. That helps you with concentration and UMD while having enough in Jump, Balance and full Intim.

Intim is powerful, it helps you get agro in an attempt to power your torc when shortman when you would otherwise run out of sp in a 2man Sins Hard or Elite etc.

Also with the teleporting/jumping boss mechanic becoming popular, it gets you agro back fast.
I had a max intim of 66 last night but had to use my air goggles to maintain it and lose out on my hp item.

Drow is doable, but IMO Human Heal Amp II and Human Damage Boost II are a better option.
I would also hate starting at 12con. You will be ok and about 60 or so hp behind a human such as my build.
I wouldn't see it as an issue if the raid bosses didn't get such a bug boost on Elite and Epic, but the more base hp you have the more you get from DoSIII stance.

You could be Human, and use Scimitars, to make use of the extra feat. I am sticking with khopesh though, because I apparently like bigger numbers
