I dunno I tank Elite ToD and VoD on a 34pt and +2int tome fine. I worked out that using a +4int tome and 36pt I will gain 3 ac. 3ac.

The stats aren't THAT tight...
Drow 28pt: 14 Str/16 Dex/12 Con/12 Int/10 Wis/16 Cha (oh noooo 14 str, 1 modifier less than most people, the world will end!! only equates to what, 3,4 dps?)

Human/HElf 32pt: 14 Str/15-16 Dex/14 Con/12 Int/8-10 Wis/14 Cha

36pt (32 for drow) gets to boost that strength up ONE bracket, yippee? or invest in more wisdom for 2 more AC for a tad bit of help? raise Cha by 1 or 2 on human/helf to get DM3? It is a bit of a notable difference, but shouldn't be very noticeable... Just trying to say, you do NOT need UBBER-TR for a pajama DoS, it's only a little bit behind. Gear, on the other hand...
