Trying to heal a ToD, the best solution I found was to toggle the numbers off in the UI. It's not a good one, as I had to turn them on again after the raid, but it was a lot easier to tell when those heals were needed. Now if only there wasn't so much space between names.

I think Culver's right that we'll get used to it, but it's going to hurt getting to that point.

On a side note, can we *not* show ki bars in party? It really doesn't help.

lol I wouldn't out it past them.

The new one is just god awful, I'm sure eventually we'll all get used to it, but now it hurts mah brain.

They just keep "fixing" things that aren't broken and ignore the things that are.

I don't see the problem, healing was obviously overpowered so the devs nerfed it by making sure we can't heal anyone anymore. I mean seriously, the only way I can heal a party now is by clicking their icons which results in *dings* because I'm not used to it, add the fact I can't see the "insert curse word here" names on my map to run to my injured teammates and healing, the worse and most unappreciated job in the game mind you, is now near impossible.

I'll be playing nothing but my PM for the next while, he self heals so less problems there...

I play DDO on a 32 inch TFT TV (resolution 1360x768). The TV if 1,5 meters (5 feet) away from my chair.
And yet it is soooo hard to see the life bars. Before the UI changes I was able to see if there was someone wounded with the flick of an eye. Now it's easier to read the numbers than looking the red bar below. Reading... hmmppfff!!!. Man, healing the last quest drove me nuts.

I want the bars longer and more clear to see. I need them. It's my cleric's job. I only use him for healing raids when guild needs it. Having them so small and difficult to see makes me feel like healing blindfolded. Otherwise I'll just stop using it, and I'm afraid that with the last changes to raid bosses, nerfing of the FvS and UI changes there is going to be even less healers than we used to have.

With a background colour behind the health bars, it wouldn't be so bad. As it is, it blends so much that you literally HAVE to stare at the bars and get massive eye strain to make sure everyone remains standing.

There's still the size issue if you use a high resolution.

I really dislike how this change was not presented to us for opinions, and our input on Lamannia was completely ignored.

Yes I understand the reasoning behind some of the UI changes, needing the room for the pet hp bars etc, but there must be a better way to lay out the bars other than having so much dead space, taking up so much room, and making them hard to see due to the background bleeding through....if nothing else bring back the borders around the bars so we can tell where the bars are rather than just having them bleed into the background.

I know there are several healers on orien going on strike until this issue is resolved. Hope Patch 11.1 addresses the issues.

I think there should be a toggle in the UI settings so you can use either old ui or new uI. depending on your preference.

to handle the pet HP bar could be a sub bar like a KI or SP bar in the artificer's bar

i had to toggle all the percentages and numbers off, this left me with clean bars, if now spread apart and shorter than the old UI, it also has then fun little side effect of if i want to keep all the distracting numbers off my party screen then it will punish me and not give me numbers on my main health/SP bar

so what am i left with?

a giant old UI party bar as my main bar, with nothing but a guess as to how low on SP i am

and a bunch of tiny spread out party bars to make finding the person to heal the challenge, not healing them.

thank you update 11 im glad you like your dog

Just give us the option to toggle back to classic mode, will you please???

Or remove the huge spacing between the new bars. Just that alone would help.
    Thanks!

...removed a lot of text because I was unaware of a UI option...thanks kcru!

Changes that would be helpful...add player HP/SP into party UI as default...remove graphical elements that do not contribute to the information presentation...provide a selection of sizes for the party UI (small, normal, large) OR make the UI resolution independent...

    Thank you

Having player HP/SP is excluded from the party UI causes a couple issues:
1.) Counting from 2 is not intuitive. Players (both new and those of us with a couple years experience) will be hitting F1 to select the first person in the list. It will be a lot easier for new players to learn party member 1 is F2. But it won't be as easy as it was for the older players to learn that party member 1 was F1.
This can at least be remedied... in the UI options you can move your HP back to the raid bar as player 1 instead of the other bar.

My biggest concern is the dev team removed the functional aspect for a better look & feel. Yeah i don't care about the rounded corners and all if it's to not be able to evaluate very quickly the relative percentage of everyone's hp. And i wouldn't want to see percentages instead of hps because the fastest evaluation is looking where the red bars end and not watching 6-12 numbers.

I actually dislike seen hps, sure I can calculate which spell to more efficiently heal but now players will be marked on how much hp/sp they have rather then how well they play. Did Shroud with my Drow Wiz which had the 3rd highest hp, everyone played well (a couple UI related deaths) but I just know the less then 200 hp toons will have a hard time finding parties or may even find their way to people's squelch lists based solely on hp.

    Default I hate it.

Headaches, eyestrain, inability to see hp...thank you U11. Yes, people can get used to anything..including living in a cardboard box and being beat upside the head daily....this doesn't mean I'm going to incorporate it into my 'fun' hobby.

    This.

While it's prettier, and it is nice to see actual HP to provide more efficient healing, the usability took a big hit with the new interface. I have a hard time believing that it was designed by someone with experience actually playing the game.

When things get hairy in the middle of a quest, healers should be able to tell at a glance who needs heals and who doesn't. This new interface simply doesn't provide that.

How to improve it? Well, doubling or tripling the width of the bars and moving the numbers outside (to the left or right side of the bars) is a start...
