    Default My Generalist Cleric

I've got a drow cleric that I'm planning to TR into a human. I don't think drow is the worst choice but there are some things to be gained by going human as well as the 2 extra build points. So far I have enjoyed being a generalist so I'm going to stick it out. Still I've got some real questions about casting. I'm seriously thinking about changing a few feats and enhancements to include spell penetration and/or spell focus.

What I really need to do is narrow it down to which feats I'm actually taking. I'm not really worried about which levels I take them at. The only ones that are locked in as necessary in my mind are toughness, empower healing and maximize. Anything else can be swapped out if I want to go for spell penetration, spell focus, etc... I took the smiting line for higher DP damage but will probably take it out since I'll need spell penetration to land any CC. I guess if I can get a decent DC on stuff like greater command I would have to go all out for that. Is that an achievable goal? Will I have to give up my title as "generalist". I don't mind being at the bottom in terms of melee dps but I like being able to hit stuff.

In the next post I'm going to include my current gear and maybe get some input on what I should be looking for to improve that.

    Right now I've got

    epic cavalry plate
    +45 HP Conc Op goggles
    Minos
    Torq
shard of xoriat (had a cove trinket but switched it to another char can make a new one though)
    Mabar Cloak
    morgana's belt
    Morgana's ring
One of the savant rings with +6 CHA
striding boots (FF, or ToD boots to swap in here)
    +6 STR gloves
    Bracers of the glacier

I've got shards seals and scrolls for many different epic items and I've been through the list on wiki to see what they do. I just don't see where a clear upgrade can be had without adjusting the whole setup. If you could help me out in this as well, then when i reach 20 I can start the grind for better gear.

I play full heal clerics - heal heal heal and loads of sp - these are the feats i take.. in this row:
    Extend
Eschew (yes, its a waste but im lazy)
    Mental tougness
    Empower healing
    Quicken
    Maximize
    Empower
    Improved mental tougness

I haven't achieved this gear set up, but its what im going for momentarily - below it im gonna write some changes that makes it what i think is the best setup for clerics in the game momentarily:

Epic helm of the Mroranon - http://ddowiki.com/page/Epic_Helm_of_the_Mroranon - Augument slot: Resistance +5
    GS sp goggles Conc Oppo
Epic infested armor - http://ddowiki.com/page/Epic_Infested_Armor - aug slot: toughness
    * Epic scorched bracers - http://ddowiki.com/page/Epic_Scorched_Bracers - aug slot: good luck
    * Epic boots of Corrosion - http://ddowiki.com/page/Epic_Boots_of_Corrosion - exc cha + 1 and Spell foc Evocation
    * Epic Charged Gauntlets - http://ddowiki.com/page/Epic_Charged_Gauntlets - exc con + 1
    Warchanters band - http://ddowiki.com/page/Warchanter%27s_Band
Gnawed ring - http://ddowiki.com/page/Kilau%27s_Band - on tod crafting put +2 cha
Vornes Belt - http://ddowiki.com/page/Vorne%27s_Belt - on tod crafting put +2 con
    GS hp Conc Oppo cloak
    Litany of the dead: http://ddowiki.com/page/Litany_of_the_Dead_(item)
    Torins Choker: http://ddowiki.com/page/Torin%27s_Choker

As for this items list i would like to trade out the conc oppo cloak with epic envenomed cloak (http://ddowiki.com/page/Epic_Envenomed_Cloak) and then put GS hp conc oppo item on bracers so i can still maintain the epic abishai set bonus which gives you + 3 to caster level. When going low on spellpoints i suggest you get a Torc (http://ddowiki.com/page/Torc_of_Prince_Raiyum-de_II) and equip to refill the blue bar

    As for weapons i suggest:
    Skiver
GS exceptional Wisdom item with +1 and +2 exc wis.

Looks like good advice. I'll probably go a different route. I don't do much Chrono and I enjoy the red fens so I'm thinking that the claw set would be nice. I can slot heavy fort on my cavalry plate and then go for one of the nice healer helms. Either epic chainmail coif, the helm of mroranon, or (one which I already have the ingredients) epic mask of comedy.
