When I asked why, one of the members of the party I got declined from (could not asked directly, remember i've been squelched) said: ****tells you, ''you pass a SOS shard for a TWF {personthatgotshard} with no alts... is a good point i guess...atleast 9 ppl tried to help {leaderofthatpartythatsquelchedme} with the rolls these day cause all know that,the {personthatgotshard} dnt have alts and {leaderofthatpartythatsquelchedme} and other guy was looking only for it." (copied, pasted, names have been changed cause I am nice!...and, oh well, also cause I cant post those stuff here)


The sad thing is:
1. I did not know either one (never met {personthatgotshard} and {leaderofthatpartythatsquelchedme} or maybe I did but here comes #2:

2. Overall I have a very bad memory (that includes directions and NAMES)

3. Had no clue that those ppl needed it (yea, I am noob, I should know the needs of those few that run high lvl content on Orien, but I dont (blame #2)


so I just gave SOS shard to the highest roll....(pls do not hate me, pls)

I wouldn't blame you. You put an item up for roll. However, I would blame the guy who didn't need the shard for being in the roll. He should have bowed out if he didn't need the item.

SOS shard is bta. Pass it to whom you want. Your loot your choice.

The thing is she put it up for roll, its done in good faith, when you put things up for roll are you somehow suppose to police and know everything about the people who are rolling for it?

Some people take the game way, way too seriously & probably aren't a lot of fun to group with. I'd have given them the link in my signature.

If Im reading this correctly, A bunch of ppl rolled on it to pass to one guy? Thats skeevy. If you would have protested when one of them won the roll and passed it they would have said "My loot I do what I want with it." They DESERVED to lose the roll to a TWF with no alts.

I once lost a roll on an SoS (base item) to a sorc. Whatever.

Way back when epics first came out I pulled a SOS shard and instantly got so many tells to trade I had to tell people to stop because I couldn't keep up. I came up with a balanced option, high roll wins, and pays me either lds or frds, their choice. Everyone seemed content with that. I got something for the trade and didn't have to go thru 9 people trying to trade and outbid others.

bad wording on my part I actually agreed with you. I just can't believe that people are angry at this woman for doing this, she does them a favour and gives her loot away for free giving all of them who want it a fair chance at it. And how do they reward her being generous? They squelch her, its beyond words lol. Ive heard it all.

Interesting thread. Loot drama is always nice.

When putting up loot for roll, here's which rules I implicitely follow:
1. Put it up for roll if you don't need it.
2. Only roll for it if you need it.
3. One (wo)man, one roll.

Seems to me that the PUG violated both #2 and #3. Proxy-rolling is as impolite to me as rolling for uneeded items (in fact, it's the same).
I see that the SoS shard is a highly sought after item, and that in this case the procedure should not be "/roll, highest roller wins", but that there should be enough time to discuss about #2.

Often in raids, the gravitiy of the situation needs to be explained when a Monk rolls on a Green Blade, for example. That's unusual, but maybe he's only on a Monk life of a caster TR. Who knows? For the SoS shard, maybe the shard is the last thing to convince him to acutally start a THF toon. Who knows?
