    Unhappy Fix DDO!!

    This game is broken..fix it!!

(disclaimer : this is NOT a nerf khopesh thread, it's been done to death but this is part of the reason the game is broken)

This game has been running for several years now and it's still borked in several areas.

It is supposed to be a "role playing game" but unless you role an elite (let's be the same as every other fool in the game) then this counts for nothing.

The basic maths of the game is broken. If you hit less then 100% then everything should go down including your critical score rate (the likelyhood of you getting a critical hit) but for some borked reason you lose next to nothing by hitting for 80% over 100% (but no this is DDO and maths does not apply)

EDIT if you take 80% from 100% you SHOULD be 20% LESS efficient!!

For all those bleeding heart elitists who are currently saying (not signed because I like "I win buttons" and picking the most borked method to "win" this game) have you once looked at the MMO rating for this game?? It's off the charts (or so low that it's a joke to mention)

So congratulations elitists you are "tha winna" of a subpar MMO.

I'm not expecting an educated response from a Turbine developer (wishful thinking) but I'll soldier on.

Wizards according to D&D rules are supposed to be weak at low levels and epic at high levels, but again this is lost in the rust and woodworm of the game (please add the new spell scrolls to the game, to not do this yet add new and "flashy" weapons is biased and broken)

    Crafting is broken

Crafting is not a mindless grind for average items, it is customisation from the start of the process (want a flaming sword - get x amount of fire essence some metal ingot and some binding for the handle - it's quality depends on the number of essences and the type of ingot)

Also your custom armors are a joke, add colourer dyes and be done with it.

Read this and fix the game ... Or don't and remain a subpar MMO (your choice)

Really, if it's a sub-par MMO - then move on to another. Personally, I have found it to be the best MMO I've played, even with the so-called problems you litany above. I'm not an elitist. I'm not a min-maxer. I play to have fun, and this game has given me six+ years of it - and going strong. It has it's flaws, sure. But it's still the best MMO I've found.

But really, what would be the point, this pretty much hits the nail on the head.

DDO is subpar compared to what? It would be nice for you to provide some tangible data. So far you have expressed your opinion, but nothing to support it.

The crafting suggestions you make are hauntingly familiar...

If you dislike it so much, why bother playing?

I shopped around quite a bit before picking DDO. None of the other slew of games out were even remotely this good. NONE. WoW was boring, insulting really. Rift didn't grab me at all. LotRO I played quite a bit on the trial, and played quit a bit more when it went F2P. I still have it installed, but rarely play now... boring (though I still think their crafting system is waaay better than ours). I'll try Marvel Universe (or whatever they're calling now that Cryptic is gone, assuming it ever does get released ), and I'll try SW:TOR, but they wont replace DDO on my harddrive.

As for the math, you're way off. As for casters, you're way off.

Maybe isn't so much subpar than having a big potential.
That is broke and need fix, surely not, if you take DDO as a whole, but that it can be made better, that is for certain.

As far as i can see a lot of the things one can complain about can be blamed on the MMO aspects of the game.
One may blame the 'conversion from PnP' but most of the time the issues at hand have nothing to do with D&D and a lot to do with MMO mechanics.
(e.g. weapon love, armor and AC, spells, tweaks, etc.)

OP may be firing blindly at this and that but in the bottom the point is clear: there's a lot of things that doesn't look good.

Agreed with others, I rail on a lot of the BS in DDO fairly often, and I too have a long list of complaints when it comes to DDO; however I keep coming back to DDO from other "Big Name" MMO's over and over again because DDO is FUN "most" of the time and gameplay skill and character design matter.

I wish a lot of thing were fixed in DDO, not because I think its a ****** game, but because I see a lot of potential to make it even better.

It sure beats the pants off of: Rift, WoW, FFXI, FFXIV, Fallen Earth, Warhammer, LOTRo, City of Heros/Villians, Auto Assualt, APB Reloaded, Dofus, Lineage I and II, Aion, EvE (though EvE could be awesome as well if they just ditched that stupid Time = Level system), and I'm sure I'll add more MMO's to the list as I keep looking into them to find a "new" one

Edited out the first line. Apparently someone didn't like it and neg-repped me. I'm leaving the second line as the important part.

I'm still here for a reason.
