We all know that one feat for 5% PD absorption is quite useless, many people have suggested changing it or removing it altogether, while I have come up with a different, more convenient idea for Turbine and their balance skepticism.
2 AP-Requires Improved Shield Mastery; You have grown to using shields, and gain 5% additional physical damage reduction, added to your Improved Shield Mastery feat. Must be proficient with your shield to take effect.
4 AP-Requires Improved Shield Mastery; You have grown to using shields, and gain 5% more physical damage reduction, with a total of 10% added to your Improved Shield Mastery feat.
6 AP-Requires Improved Shield Mastery; You have grown to using shields, and gain 5% more physical damage reduction, with a total of 15% added to your Improved Shield Mastery feat.
Keep in mind that 5% is only 1/20 reduction, so for it to be more effective than 1 dr you have to receive over 39 damage.. Also keep noted that you are required to get two feats for a total of 40% damage reduction with a tower shield as your maximum.
2 AP-Requires Improved Shield Mastery, Improved Shield Bash; You valiantly wield a shield with grand expertise alongside your main-hand weapon, and gain a 5% additional chance to shield bash when attacking while not being mobile for a total of 25%. Must be proficient with your shield to take effect.
4 AP-Requires Improved Shield Mastery, Improved Shield Bash; You valiantly wield a shield with masterful expertise alongside your main-hand weapon, and gain a 5% additional chance to shield bash when attacking while not being mobile for a total of 30%.
6 AP-Requires Improved Shield Mastery, Improved Shield Bash; You valiantly wield a shield with perfect expertise alongside your main-hand weapon, and gain a 5% additional chance to shield bash when attacking while not being mobile for a total of 35%.
