This hopefully will be a list of all known chests that do not drop the proper items, items in general, or do not drop named items on epic while they do on non-epic.

  • Epic Quests in General - Greater Essences
    Greater Essences do not drop in any chest on epic difficulty. They have not since the second(?) patch to update 10.
  • Epic Snitch - End Chest
    The normal end chest is replaced by the Epic Chest, and the Epic Chest does not drop the Garos's Malice base item.
  • Epic Fathom the Depths - Slomnuc's Chest
    The normal end chest is replaced by the Epic Chest, and the Epic Chest does not drop the Dampened Robe of Dissonance base item.
  • Epic Chamber of Raiyum - Treasure Room Named Chest
    The one chest in the treasure room that drops named base items is the one replaced by the Epic Chest, and the Epic Chest does not, as far as I know, drop base items.
  • Possibly Epic Last Stand - Twisted Talisman chests
    A few people have claimed to have pulled the Twisted Talisman base item from those chests on epic, but nobody has provided a screenshot. In close to 40 runs with a full group, along with a combined hundred plus runs that other guildmates have joined, and nobody has seen one drop. If it can drop on epic, please provide the screenshot.
  • Zawabi's Revenge (all difficulties) - Side Chest
    This chest only drops a single item (and possibly a greater essence on non-epic), and no plat/scrolls/gems. This may be intentional. In addition, on epic difficulty, the level of the chest is identical to running it on elite.
