Idea for faster grouping

Have an audible ding/sound when a group appears in the LFM window that is accessible to your class and level. This should allow PUGs to fill up faster. LFGers won't have to keep checking and LFMers shouldn't have to send so many tells. This sound can be toggled on/off in options.

Uh.. i'd have to say no to this. If it became used at all than the griefers would abuse it putting up lfm's for all level/classes and taking them down repeatedly.

The ding sound would annoy me so I personally wouldn't use it, Not to mention that if you are looking for a group you tend to have the "o" panel open while you do w.e you are doing...

Squelched individuals wouldn't be able to annoy you. Having the window open isn't always ideal, it takes up real estate.

I'd prefer if they updated the LFG function to be more useful to this end. Allow for selection of a specifc quest under your LFG and then notify if an LFM is posted that meets your level, class and quest criteria (just make the Social Panel Icon GLOW GREEN or something). Even better if it initiated an auto-invite submission on your behalf as long as your toon wasn't already in-party or AFK. I know that this could lead to a potential flood of auto-submissions for popular runs like the Shroud, but I think that would be the exception, and not the rule.

I would update my LFG with not so popular quests that I'm ultimately looking to complete for favor or otherwise (like Tomb of the Tormented) and if not in group, would love to get the GREEN LIGHT notification that a group is forming.

Additionally, if we could sort the "Who" listing under the Social panel by LFG Quest, I might be encouraged to post an LFM for a Quest that multiple people are shown to be interested in running (if I wanted some immediate action) knowing that they'd all be sent the GREEN LIGHT notification as soon as I posted.

LFG is otherwise pretty much useless as is, so this would be a welcome enhancement...either that, or get rid of it.

Maybe if it dings only once, the first time a LFM you qualify for appears, provided you are ungrouped and the LFM was empty of ads you can apply.

This way the room for griefers is reduced, altough still existing, possibly having a timeout for any given player, or something alike.
Maybe you could set an option to only notify you of ads from people on your friend list.
Maybe it can exclude those 1-20 ads, if the level range is appropiate, or only when your exact class is wanted.

Maybe the icon for the social panel can bright up and gray out accordingly, and you could then turn the sound off and still be able to eye out that there's new ads.

Right on...people are way too uptight for an amenity like an auto-join request to be utilized without substantial whining, griefing and complaining and it's useage would only be further derailed by the all too common abuse and misuse of LFMs.

Keep in mind though that I didn't mean to imply that you as the LFM poster would not be able to deny an auto-join request in the same way as if the player simply clicked on your LFM. Nor am I suggesting that your LFM's would auto-populate without your control. In fact the LFM poster would not be able to differentiate from an LFG generated auto-join request and a manual one. Regardless, you are correct, due to LFM manipulation it would not work as intended in the end, so scratch that portion of the idea.

Though I still strongly believe the benefits of being able to identify a specified quest under the LFG and be unobtrusively notified when a matching LFM is posted would be a nice enhancement.
