    Default Epic Roderics Wand

Augment summoning not working with arificier doggies and turrets. And also, new ERoderics wand does not summon all creatures possible in it's level range, like it was widely looked forward to. This Epic item is still not up to the par. It shall summon at random one of lvl VII, VIII, IX summons. orthon and air elly, elder fire elly and ghaelle, would it be much hassle to add them to summon unknown monster II?

See my post below for proper information.

As for the Augment Summoning on the Artificer pet, It has worked for me when I was investigating it, what specifically about it does not work for you?

Ouch! Thanks for the info, KK, but does that mean we'd have to _farm epic wands_ in order to get the summons we want, or does it randomly choose at the beginning of each quest?

hummph. It would be much cooler wand if it had wider selection of actually useful monsters.

as for Augment summoning: if you get an actual feat, it works; but, Augment Summoning granted by Epic Roderics Wand does not work with Humunuculus, nor flame turret spell. I'd like, if possible, get a statement from dev team if it's WAI.

I believe feat granted by item should work as if you had that feat; so, if you had Epic Roderics Wand equipped while summoning flame turret or your doggie, turret/dog shall get benefits from that feat.

    Default rodric

When i tested it earlier the augmented summoning from the upgraded epic rodric's wand did not add the effect to the artificer pet when wielding the wand while summon up the artificer pet, but it did add on the pets summons from the wand when i tested.

Wanted to save a feat by using that wand instead of purchasing the actual feat(as that would give rodrics wand an actual value instead of a inventory slotfiller(thats just my point of view and i've made 2 of those so far for fun).

I see! I've passed this information on to those who needed to know about it. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

And while we are at it, please ensure that the augmentation sticks with the summoned creatures/dogs when we unequip it (would be pretty pointless otherwise), thanks!

I always thought it should only augment it's own summons, which is how it works...

Letting it work on ALL summons is a bit much, don't you think? I mean it completely replaces the feat, since summoning is not something you're doing all the time. It would be like putting the Extend feat on a wand.... People would just pull out the wand when buffing, and then put it away...

Feat replacement items should be for feats that you need on all the time, so you have to make a hard choice... Wear the item and get a free feat, but lose the item slot...

Having an item with a feat that you can keep stowed in your backpack 99% of the time seems a bit OP to me.

It is like going to a museum and bragging about how fast you made it through. Or bragging about how fast you finished a good steak.

Generally I think that's right, but we're talking about an EPIC wand with little else going for it, and a feat that almost no one takes.

This^!!!!!! This item isn't giving a feat at low to mid levels only at cap, it doesn't really have anything else worthwhile with so few summoning options and they aren't even really options since the creature summoned is random. I have the feat on just one caster myself, and was going to change it out anyway without the epic wand as soon as i can afford to do so. The feat really doesn't do enough. Maybe for the new class its worthwhile. Maybe.

Windhowler bracers? It's a feat replacement and the feats says for summoned creatures, charmed minions and hirelings. The wiki explains this even further by stating that it does effect and what it doesn't. So far all I can think off is that the wand sees you, the holder of the wand, as a charmed/dominated or hireled by Roderic instead of the other way around.

I want DDO to be a better game. Those are my personal suggestions on: Ammunition, Archmage, Combat Stances, Deities, Dispel Magic, Epic Destiny Map, Fast Healing, Favor, Favored Enemy, Half-elf Enhancements, Monk Kensai, Monk Stances, Past Life, Potency, Potions, Ranger Spells, Summons, Tiered Loot.

It's not exactly Skill Focus: Swim, but on the OP side worrying about augment summoning seems like a bit of a red herring.

So.. I totally lied and fed you improper information above.

The Epic wand will randomly summon one of the four following monsters whenever you use it:

Fiendish Troll, Efreeti, Bezikira, or Hezrou.

The only actual change done to the wand is that it also grants the Augment Summoning Feat.

    Misleading Kobold is Misleading.

So the feat should work on all summons you do then when you hold the wand right? If so then it is not working as intended.

Ah - that isn't a very impressive list. Any chance the list will be looked at, or is the wand going to remain a hand-held feat slot?

Someone please test whether the wand-feat will buff charmed monsters.
