    Default Anchoring items choice

    The effect to anchor someone in a specific dimention is magical and therefore in no way linked to the actual physical object it is applied on.
    Therefore it would make sense and offer more customization if the "boots of anchoring" were replaced by a selection of items to choose from when bringing the 4 mats to the quest giver (I don't bring her any boots but some blood, artifact, etc)

    So on giving the 4 items we would be offered a selection between:
    - boots of anchoring
    - cloak of anchoring
    - circlet of anchoring
    - gloves of anchoring
    - ring of anchoring
    etc

    It would also align this crafting with how it has been designed for Vale, Cannith, etc where you're not limited to a specific body armor to put your effects on.

    I like it. Gives people more options for their anchoring item.

    I would also like an option to put the of anchoring on a pre-existing item.

    There is no problem with it just being on boots, but it would be nice to have a choice.

    I think if it still takes all the prerequisite items of Blood - Iron - Artifact - Keepsake, it should be transmutable into an Essences that, when combined with 30 Dungeon tokens, would allow you to imbue it into an Epic Augment Slot.

    But hey, I'm just crazy like that. Sad thing is, though, it probably means immunity to Haste

    Excellent idea! Could apply the same thing to Cannith crafted shards.

    Nah, it just means having 2 pairs of <item> that you switch out.

    I'd like to see that idea have its own thread. post it asap.

    I dont see the problem with it only being boots. You can haste slap the boots on and go. I have plenty of rings and others things I change out. Boots I have 3 pair Gyro,anchoring and feather fall. Im a happy camper

    For the reason below. Maybe I have some great boots which would be really great to use for the fight against Horoth while for this particular encounter my usual ring or necklace could be swapped out.

    I'd love to be able to slot it into an epic, just make another Helm of Frost and throw it on there to swap it with the one I got, so I can leave on Epic Corrosion boots/Madstone

    That is exactly untrue. Magic items in D&D work off of body slot affinities, also know as chakras. What kind of item it is does matter for the magic.

    That's a reason for the devs to not do it.

    More flexibility = players are more likely to be able to equip powerful items = the cost for wearing Anchoring is lower = raid battle becomes easier. The TOD fights do not need to become easier than they are already. Currently Boots of Anchoring is a moderately interesting obstacle, and it would be less interesting if it were more flexible.

    In particular, Boos of Anchoring competes with Madstone Boots, making it more difficult to reach the hp threshold to resist Horoth Disintegrate.

    The requirement for Anchoring basically removes any value in Augment slots on the various Epic boots, as you can't really put anything important to your build there because of ToD.

    Several Epic items have colorless slots that basically can't be used for things like +6 Con because of this.
    I don't have a zerging problem.
