Purge MyDDO

I suggest that Myddo receive a full purge. Delete all characters and character info and let it all be re-added as players log their toons.

There are so many bugged players still getting "This character has been archived. To see this character's data, please log in with the character." and so many long since deleted toons on there its just getting silly.


It's a good tool for the few that can use it, clean it up and make it actually accessible.

I see some good, some bad, to this.

For those that don't have a working MyDDO, it's great.

For those that do.. well, you'er going to wipe all previous lives away. 2-3 time TRs will just show their toon upon logging in, and many like going back and looking at how they "used" to be. (Hint: I was gimp!)

This system needs an overhaul. All my toons have broke, been fixed, broke again, got fixed again, and are not broken again.

not a single one of my toons are updating properly, including toons that have stayed capped and never TR'ed.

I honestly think purging it is only going to put a bandaid on the problem - sooner or later all the toons that are broke now will break again, with no clear cause of why.

I like it the way it is to actively prevent people from using MyDDO to inspect me before joining a group. If they wanna know something they can ask and I will decide if I want to tell them.

Use it to enter the lotteries and instead of using the select all characters option going through and clicking the ones that have not been deleted, yes.

So yeah please purge and update.

I really only want to use it for the lotteries and to be able to copy my characters over to Lammannia. Since I cant do either, I wish they would fix this somehow, someway but Im prolly just dreaming now....

meh i use it to screen all the time,

i look for DT armor, gs/epic items, make sure thier stats are ok, max hp not too low, heavy fort, con6, gfl...unless someone gimps themself on all equipment pieces before they log out everytime, it works well enough.

its certainly better than nothing, and you'd be amazed how many ppl try and join epics with less than 300hp and no fortification.

its fine the way it is.

If check for haggle gear or the pendant of time and if either are there, I just assume they're a bit better than their stats show.

It's not perfect, but I like to pug, and it's nice to be able to get half decent PUGs instead of some of those **** 280 hp rogues that want to come to Chronoscope.

It is NOT fine the way it is, and you should definitely NOT be using it a screening tool.

My level 20 fighter was rejected from an eADQ run because the group leader went to MyDDO and tried to view my current toon. What he didn't realize was that MyDDO shows the very first toon I ever made (which used the same name as my current fighter). Because I didn't know how to build a toon properly it was gimped to the max and was deleted at around level 13. Yet he based his rejection on that incorrect info. Of course when I informed him of this I got nothing but silence in return, which spoke volumes to me, but that's a different subject.

If group leaders are going to be using MyDDO to pre-screen group applicants then it had better show the correct information. It needs to be fixed and I don't care how they have to do it.

That doesn't justify using a broken tool. If all the rungs on your ladder were broken would you still use it to get to the second floor windows? No, you wouldn't!

my issue isnt about how the tool should be used, but that it should be usable. Currently it is not for a great many of us.


And the lottery thing is the iceing on that cake, it's really tedious to scroll through two dozen long-since deleted characters.

I've done that. More than half of the replies are "Wow are you serious? How elitest are you?" or "I've completed this b4 dunt worry about my gear" because people have egos.

You know there is a timestamp in the bottom corner that says when it was last updated, right?

Like Silverweb of Orien was, Data Last Updated: 09/06/2010 2:08 pm, if that's the toon you are referencing.


People that don't know how to use tools should definitely not use those tools incorrectly, I agree.
