I can't imagine playing mine with low dex, just won't have the to hit to actually hit on elites. Yes you can use the to hit from int spell, but that means no more extra damage from int spell(until you swap back). Can make a huge difference. Low dex will be a big pain if you want to be ranged.
I think I may do pure, wf, and mx int and dex, stick to repeaters, and just plain buff and support with ranged.

Will be TR'ing my current crafter into a 36 point build:
20 Human Artificer
Past Life Bard x2, Wizard and Paladin
8 Strength
16 Dexterety (Have a +3 dex tome)
16 Constitution
18 Inteligence (+5 Level ups)
8 Wisdom
8 Charisma
I might decide on 14 Con and decide to use the extra points into Strength as I was always overloaded on Lam without any str gear .. and str pots didnt last long enough. Might be worth a lesser tr later on down the road to fix this for more hp once 20.
Feats:
1 Point Blank Shot
H Rapid Shot
3 Toughness
4 Precise Shot
6 Augment Summoning
8 Empower
9 Quickdraw
12 IC: Ranged, Maximize
15 Imp Precise Shot
16 Spell Focus: Evocation

Last 3 feats are up in the air as still not sure whether +3 to Evocation DC's is worth it. I've yet to see anywhere if bonuses to Spell DC's will effect DC's of runearms. If they DO, it may be worth while in the end. We'll see..
Half-Elf with the Rogue dilly feats (spec my dog out for full intim/bluff) and go full dragon-marks. Since I'll be taking most-if-not-all the Electric spell boosters, Call Lightning + Lightning Motes is a lot of fun.
Played this build on Llama, and it was the most fun out of the three I leveled. Yeah, it may not be the most "elite" build out there... but I've always put fun ahead of math when it comes to a build.
My only real decision remains on picking between Great Crossbow or Repeater.
If I didn't already have a WF ready to TR...Helf/Rogue Dilly, capped. Dex/Int & ranged with as many force specs as I could sneak in.
Since I do have a WF ready to TR, I think I'll be doing a repeater/int based with force maxxed.
Really looking forward to building and then playing.
Amazing how DDO seems to have become a "builders" game, rather than an "adventure" game.
My "main" Adumbrate was always built with Spellsword in mind, and I think the infusions are closer than anything he can get as a wizard, so I'm going S&B with Fanion and a Khopesh. Should be fun. 18 Arti/2 Fighter.
Feats:

planning on TRing my bard into a artificer, both the artificer and bravery bonus sounds like it could be real fun.
always wanted a try a repeater build so thats what im going for good or bad im sure itll be fun and ill lvl my crafting skill easier at the worst case.
also want to experince the caster abilities of the class so its int/dex for me.
WF artificer 18 2monk
9str
17dex
16con
18int+lvl
6 6 wis/cha
WF so dont need will save, artificer gets lot of bonus to umd so no issue reaching 39 without any cha.
feeling confident about the stats but possible may put 1 lvl up into dex depends what equip im going with endgame thats still being evaluated.
1 Point Blank Shot (rapid shot for free)
2monk toughness
3 past life fighter
5 Augment Summoning
6 Rapid Shot
8 Maximize
9 Quicken
12 IC: Ranged
13 precise shot
15 Imp Precise Shot
17 Wizard Past Life
18 Extend
x lvl second monk lvl undecided probably the reflex save feat if doing lot of elite then you really want good saves.
feeling pretty confident on the race feat and stats, know i want go mostly artificer so i get BB but dont feel any real need to go lvl20 artificer but what lvl of artificer is the sweet spot there are more splash options then 2 monk.
still considering other splash options 2fighter 1 barb sounds good also think the run speed would play well on a ranged
no clue on how to spend AP yet biggest question-mark is how much to spec for BB damage and rune arm.
im also tempted to make it a elf just like the construct essence for mostly RP reasons think a artificer should be a none construct who'd modified himself anyhow its under review how much id sacrifice for not going WF.
Well...I'm going to start with a Warforged Artificer 18 / Fighter 2 or Artificer 16 / Fighter 2 / Rogue 2.
Mostly to get around the ******** restriction on Vet Status.
(1) Create level 1 Artificer.
(2) Take levels 2 and 3 as Fighter on the ship.
(3) Talk to NPC and get XP for level 4, then type /death
(4) Train level 4 at the Marketplace Artificer trainer.
(5) Make a rude gesture to the Turbine Marketing monkeys.

Well when update 12 comes out (seriously) I will have my build perfected
she will be elven since I like playing elves and played around with Nyxy on Lamania as a TR
I am going to TR my human wizard who had already did a double for spell pen as a wizard. she will be transformed into my elven artificer im still working out stats her since I now have plenty of time to do so.
Started shrouding with my wizard to to get the shards she needs for her repeater going Vac II with it I think maybe LIT II still debating though with the extra time I may craft her one of each. I plan on hitting the reaver's refuge for some DT armor to put things on for her and ive got some docents and mithral chain im going to use as crafting blanks for leveling up. She will probably have a cross bow for all occasions since I was one of the lucky few who made an crafting alt who is pretty high level now.
I really want to play the class and look forward to when I can unlock it to do so by then I will have the TR completely ready including all those tokens needed to trade for my heart of wood

For my first Arty, I'm trying to decide between either
12 Arty/6 Ranger/2 Monk
or
11 Ranger/9 Arty
Certainly not at the top of the charts, but like Mem said, "fun"
The idea is to go Helf (especially since I can mask the fugly with goggles ) for the Rogue Dilly (full Intim on my pup...Gears of RAWR) and 3d6 sneak attack from extended range, along with taking advantage of the improvement to Point Blank Shot.
Yeah, I know about TWF not fitting in with Arty (and I really tried to fit in all the feats to go B-sword as well) but with whipping out repeaters/rune arm for Endless Fullisade when Manyshot is on timer and dual Khopeshes when mobs close in, it'll be fun...and how hard can all that swapping be compared to playing a Monk
Arty will obviously be for buffing and with 11 Ranger, all ranged and TWF feats are free, plus full Devotion line and Improved Recovery amps, along with Construct Essence and Repair spells, plus +3 to wands should keep me solo healing well.
Anyhoo, I'm still all over the place with my thoughts, so I'll end this wall of text

My build will be tring my paly(who already has a past life pally under his belt and is my main crafter) into a human d-marked arti repeater build. tested it on llama on a first life and started testing the leveling with actual experience and bravery on the actual character. its not a bad build will post it if asked but definitely not optimal due to the crafting focus. after I cap crafting I plan on either tring back into pally, or if I enjoy the class as much as I did on llama just change out the dmark feats.
