Default Why are the Fabricator's Gauntlets so hard to find?

4 weeks of Lamannia and no one has found the Fabricator's Gauntlets. Devs: Are you sure you have added them to a loot table?

    They are sure..

They added them to the loot table.

And they added Artificers to the 2nd tier of cannith favor.

    All available.

    In U12.

Ye olde.. Buy the next pack to unlock what you got in the last pack trick they've been doing for ages now.

Unnecesary and poor form imo.. They should convice us to purchase the next pack on it's merits of being fun and having interesting stand alone loot, not this unloch/set bonus string-you-along nonsense.

Genasi seems to strongly suggest here that this is not the case. Also, we already have one full set in this pack. Makes me think the others probably are, too.

Yea being that post was in direct to reply to mine I get what hes saying..

But not everything goes as planned.

If they are in the explorer areas.. They are insanely rare or were just added in the last patch.

i think the suggestion is that they are in rare chests *inside* the quests.

Instead of being coy about it, can a dev post where the Fabricator Gauntlets are supposed to drop? No offense devs, but this wouldn't be the first time you forgot to add items to loot tables: Epic seals in House P and Red Fens come to mind.

Just like the symbiot that's missing out of the harbor Xoriat quests; it should be in there but oups we didn't seem to put it in.

I'm guessing that it's not there and will be in a future update.

Unfortunately, the Fabricator's Gauntlets will not be available immediately upon the release of Update 11, due to a bug with them and several other items not appearing in the Cannith Manufactury as intended. The four items are the Tinker's Goggles, Magewright's Spectacles, Fabricator's Gauntlets, and Alchemist's Crown. These items will be added to the treasure table as soon as we can get them in, but we are not able to get this fixed in time for Update 11.

The, "We can't get (fill in blank) fixed prior to update (fill in blank).", is just a bit over used and getting a little disappointing. How can a member of your staff claim, "We have a solid plan for everything upto end of 2012.", yet you have released how many incomplete updates.

    Oops?

I'm going to call this one as I see it. Items are left off the tables far too often. Either incomplete lists are being sent to QA or QA is not doing their due dilligence here.

I don't care who is at fault, but this was old when the chest was missing from ToD...now it's just silly.

I decided to Edit this post.

    Cordy/Jerry:

Since they're *not* coming out with U11, can we at least get told what these items' properties are? I mean, it's not our fault the loot isn't going to be there, but I'm not going to start grinding for half of a set when I may not like the other half of the set, like, at all.

No plan survives contact with the enemy. It's unfortunate that Turbine considers its players to be the enemy.

The ONLY reason Turbine would not allow something released is if it was to the Players Advantage. They release broken nonfunctional gear all the time like TOD rings.

It seems that way yes. However what you miss when you say it like that is that when something is to a player's advantage it has the potential to unbalance the game and become exploited, then when it is fixed people cry nerf and whine that they thought it was supposed to be like that. If they release something that doesn't work but isn't to the player's advantage the game isn't unbalanced as people just won't use it until it gets fixed. It's neither a conspiracy against players nor devs just being mean.

It's the same thing we see when there's a bug to the player's advantage, it gets hotfixed ASAP, but if it's a bug that doesn't help anyone or is of minor benefit then it gets prioritized differently.

edit: I just reread you comment and I may have mistook what you were trying to say. If I did I'm sorry, just not very focused today

Looks like QA did do its due diligence and found some bugs with the items. So they are being fixed. These fixes may not be simple, and may impact other areas of the game, so more QA is required before releasing the fixes.

Looks to me like QA is doing it's job very well.

If they had released bugged items (requiring a patch later), there would be a ton of posts from people like you saying "Why wasn't this caught in QA?"

Darned if they do, darned if they don't.

The bug is that they are not appearing where they are supposed to be appearing...

It does not take someone with a degree in computer science to understand that.

Just for fun, could we get a list of what the bugs are?

Like, did the effect from the bracers stack with itself every time it proc'd, causing players to get OVER 9000! strength and constitution?
