Wiz/Monk passing life build

Currently a couple weeks away from TRing again, and want to do a passing life in Monk. As with previous past lives, it will be a wizard base that I take to Wiz 14 / Monk 6, then LR+5 away enough wizard levels to get the Monk past life. However, I've never played a Monk, let alone a Wiz / Monk mutt. I've played melee Wizards before, but strictly all-strength no-dex THF types (which I assume play completely differently).

I have most relevant raid/named gear to melee and caster play and pulled a set of Devout wraps, but I don't have much other monk gear aside from that. Warforged is a must and non-negotiable, but I'm otherwise in need of some suggestions or build advice. I don't mind farming for named items ahead of time, so please point out any must-haves and I'll trade/craft/farm them up.

Gemstone's 2nd life was as a WF 11 Wiz/9 Monk. Touch of Death was fun to play with, but against trash mobs (most of what I faced as an interim life), I found that most of the DPS from ToD was wasted as the mobs moved at the last second quite often.

It wasn't the most painful build by any means, but I was glad to TR at the end of it.
