If i see you doing that again im reporting you!! The extra split second it takes me to read then ignore and scroll past your lfm is agonizing and life threatening.

    /sarcasm off.

Thats not really what the lfm panel is for, but it doesn't really cause me much grief, maybe some minor annoyance, I might even get a laugh out of it. But really I don't care and can't be bothered enough to report or send an angry tell, I got better things to do.

Though some people take intolerance to an art form, it doesnt take much to get their panties in a bunch and have them screaming for the pitch forks and torches lolz.

Your game is weak. I've seen actual LFMs that are far more clever (and, ya know, funny). What you did is on par with the children who push all the elevator buttons and then run out.

There is a faster way to make "need Altar" LFMs disappear.

    Join, send airship invite, leave.

There, 3 seconds of your time. That's what I do and it always works.

If people like you would stop enabling them, I wouldn't have to read that **** in the LFM panel.

My eyes!!! My eyes!!! it burns!!!!

You think airship altar lfms are bad? blind tells from people you have never seen before asking for a guild invite are worse.

I read all the comments and I see three different types of people.

1st type : Mature guys who stick to their goddamn principles, the kind of people who get ****ed off real fast for not much (I said mature because that simply is the way they consider themselves). Come on, have you never been a kid? Seriously, get mad because young children ring bells & run away? What I and some friends did might not seem funny but it was an inside joke. I would just have a good laugh & get over it. I would hate being you. Seriously. And when I see how much bad reputation I got for sharing this, I really start asking myself why I play a game with so many dull & irritable people (I laughed pretty hard when I saw that : Your reputation on this post is Extremely Negative.)

2nd type : Those, and most likely the majority, who simply don't care about it. They see the LFM, probably think of how pointless it is, and close the LFM window to continue playing.

3rd type : Those who saw the LFMs and smiled, if not laughed.
I got around 30 tells with people giving me answers and telling me they liked the LFMs, and a dozen of angry tells saying I was trolling & that I would get reported.

For those who called me a troll, and according to Wikipedia :
"In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion."

What I did was in no way offensive. To me, those were light-hearted LFMs meant to make people have a laugh & simply go on with their questing.

Needless to say I am deeply disappointed in the community. I'm here to have fun, have a good laugh & take a break from real life. When I see people's reactions to what seemed to me like a funny thing (and when I offended no one & the only annoyance it caused you is taking 2 inches of your screen when you could simply close the LFM window), I seriously wonder how those irritable guys fare in social real life.

Sorry for possible english mistakes. Comments are welcome.

We do want to have more recruitment tools for guilds in the future, and the guild matchup forums (whether under specific server or in the open-ended forums), general chat, updating MyDDO guild page status to "recruiting," and submitting a guild ad to the Eberron Chronicle are appropriate guild recruitment methods in the meantime.
This should explain things. Though the response was specifically for guild recruiting via LFM, the intent of LFMs is pretty clear.

I see the LFM. I report it. I move on. Takes 3 seconds of my time, makes me feel all warm inside and hopefully, somebody learns what the LFM panel is for.

What you need to remember is that things you find as funny and fun to do, others might find annoying and irritating. There are many different people on the servers and not everyone thinks alike....thank goodness

You would be in the first category. You might not find it funny, but it was in no way offensive. And why did I not get banned after being reported for this? Would Turbine really want to get rid of players who pay for the game & who do nothing offensive?

PM me with who YOU think are the two most famous people on Khyber, I would like to know YOUR opinion. I have mine but I doubt they are the same.

I'm still confused as to why the OP is throwing a tantrum over this. And yes, I have two kids so I know a tantrum when I see one.

If you want to have fun with the social aspect of ddo, cool. If you look to the bottom left of your screen when you play, there are chat boxes. Under the "general" tab, you can communicate, joke, etc. with every player in your instance. You can post about bacon or eggs or even Canadian bacon if you want (though I personally think Canadian bacon shouldn't be graced with the "bacon" tag). And the best thing about it is that it adheres to all the various game rules.

Instead, all you are doing is whining, "But whhhhyyyyyyyy is it so bad, and whhhhhyyyyyy is it against the rules? Stupid rules! Wahhhhhhhh you people are all so sad and mean and not fun boooooooooo!" Look, I don't care about the occasional non-lfm-lfms. But, from the way you describe it, it had the potential to get kinda out of control. Either way, what YOU find hilariously funny! isn't the same as what other people find funny. That's the purpose of rules - to delineate what the boundaries are so everyone can get along without angry tells and whiny forum posts. YOU are in the wrong here, because YOU are the one that went outside the boundaries. Accept it and move on. And for god's sake, seriously. General chat. The end.

I actually have no problem with joke LFMs and have even participated a bit. But "ALTERPLZ" lfms really annoy the censored out of me, and I don't even know why.

Akrites: 10 Wiz (TRed Bard), Oakianus: 20 Wiz and Odanta: 20 Monk. All on Khyber, because I love drama.
