Shroud flagging for a TR

Dumb question but do you actually have to do the quests to flag or do you just need the stones? First time with a TR hitting shroud levels and if I can just use all of his old stones then I am good to go with a shroud. I will be doing the quests anyways but i thought I may as well start grinding shroud ASAP to help my other characters and if a Shroud is on the board looking for a healer I would like to be ready.

You have to do the whole routine:
Run Out, Talk to X Guy, Do the walkups, get the stones, talk to the guy again, talk to crafting chick, make item, talk to chick again, make stone, talk to chick a 3rd time, talk to guy... flagged!!!!

But, its free XP so why not do it?

If you hit 40 favor with the 12 and have the stones, you should be good to go. The easiest way to do that is to run the 5 flagging quests on normal, but there are obviously more creative ways to manage it.

I think you still have to do every quest, as you have to 'investigate the missing twelve party' and those are only done via the quests.

You can get 40+ favor from doing only a few on hard difficulties. But I don't think he or she [not sure which one] will even talk to you to complete the test crafting unless you've done all five.

This is why I long since asked if the cakes could be BtA.

You need:

Do all 5 quests, any difficulty. Solo'ers without good equipment may decide to do Running with the Devil's on casual instead of normal. You need all 5 quest completions in order to proceed with the Shroud flagging quest.

Acquire 40 favour with The Twelve. The easiest way to do it is the 5 Vale quests on normal (5 quests at 8 favour each). You can also get Twelve favour with VoD, HoX, the Reign of Madness chain, and Acid Wit. You must acquire your favour some other way if you choose to do any of the Vale quests on casual instead of normal.

Construct a complete Signet stone via the Eldrich Device tutorial. It doesn't matter what life you got your Shavarath stones, just that you combine them when the tutorial asks you to.

I'm sure she wouldn't talk to me, even after 40 favor, until I had completed the quests. I must be remembering wrong.

Yes you do. She will not continue the "learn to craft" quest until you complete all five quests at least once. I tested it on my Sorc's TR, since I had over 40 favour prior to completing Rit Sac.

She will tell you there are still Twelve members missing.
